Yeah it was, but I'm saying that it was just really bad luck and not a reflection of his skill. He's made mistakes this season and in the past, but outside of that fumble I thought his decision making, accuracy, and composure today were impressive

He constantly threw to his check down until we were 2 scores down. Time for him to go.

The first interception pinned the Eagles back at their 3....it had the effect of a really nice punt.

The second interception was not his fault, it was totally on his blockers inability to give him any time against the blitz.

The crowd boos him off the field and Sing is ready to bench him. Is that not pressure? He responds with back-to-back TD drives. The fumble was his only screw up.

1st pick was just the team taking a shot downfield. Ginn has to take part of the blame there for not making a play. 2nd pick was a result of the line not holding up the passrush.

What I noticed was this, They came into the game nicked up starting a bunch of back-ups, they had more injuries, and brought in 3rd stringers, and still beat us!

Andy Ried was playing chess, and freaking Singletary was playing "Candy land"

At this point I would take a coach who play checkers!

however 2nd int, it was still only 3rd down, he didn't have to just chuck it up there, could've taken the sack and tried again on 4th and 15 or whatever

That play sums up Alex Smith's career. He hesitated and it cost us.

Having been a Smith supporter I would have to say that Alex is one of the problems. A six year veteran starting QB does not make the errors that he has made. He is supposed to be the leader on offense, and he makes too many mental errors. As Collingsworth pointed out, he had the opportunity to drop a pass off to VD on that fumble and he didn't do it.

He made some nice throws tonight, I didn't see any that were considered poor. His decision making was solid for the most part, his only mistake being that fumble which was just a physical mistake which happens. Why point out the playcalling? Watch our opening drive. The first four plays were runs where we averaged about 3 yards a down. Then one pass, and then another run which forced a third and long (and forced Smith to make a play...which he did).

Bottomline, we scored on the opening drive when Smith started looking downfield and zipping passes down there. Overall, there were way too many touches for Gore, and the Niners picked up huge chunks of yardage when they went away from him (big surprise).

This is a passing league now....the rules have been changed to make it that way, and the world class athletes on every NFL defense make it that way. You beat a team with the pass now. And even being a good passing team isn't enough to win in many cases (see how the Cowboys, Chargers, and Saints lost yesterday).

Our defense is actually a bigger issue than our offense, but the flavor of the day is "Blame Alex", so no one wants to talk about a D that can't even stop the run now. It looked like sieve out there last night. They let a RB playing with a broken rib juke them out of their cleats all night.

Yep, true, some times you just cover up and take the sack, some times you boot out and throw a TD, some times you give up the "Sack, Fumble TD" Alex just seems to be cursed!

Agree and pick up a good vet olineman in the off season

alex was a problem but to say he's the only problem is ignorant. our secondary is s**t because nobody plays the ball. singletary hasn't realized that we can't run on first and second down. We ended up a ton of 3rd and long situations. our o-line was garbage too bench rachal. frank and his ball control was a joke. too say alex is the only problem is ignorant
