Rookies are the silver lining...

As bad as this season has been, there is a silver lining. The play of the rookies. 1A: Anthony Davis: He's had a few rookie moments, but all in all it pretty impressinve that a 20 year old rookie is starting and playing fairly well at RT. He is getting downfield to make blocks and he's got an attitude. Looking good so far and will get better. 1B: Mike Iupati: Looks like a monster in the middle, but just like Davis makes a few rookie mistakes. Sometimes gets to the second level before the first block is finished. He's a work in progress but looks like a keeper. 2: Taylor Mays: Got his first start on Sunday and had 11 tackles. Alot of those tackles were downfield tho and I have some concerns about his tackling. We'll see. I still love his potential tho. 3: Navorro Bowman: I really like this guy. Sure tackler who attacks the LOS. This guy will start sometime this season. 6A: Anthony Dixon: If this guy stays healthy, he has a future. He good spelling Gore and he could replace Gore he sticks around long enough. I love his energy. At the games...he's always running up and down the sidelines getting the crowd involved. Great pick. 6B: Nate Byham: Blocking TE. He is good as a blocker, but I'm less impressed with him as some. We'll see. 6C: Kyle Williams: Very little to go on. He's been injured, but I like what very little I've seen. 7: Phillip Adams: Punt ruturn fiascos or not, I think the kid has a future. Aggressive corner with some return ability.

Kyle Williams has demonstrated that he can catch a punt cleanly, and for us, that has been an area of need.

I would like to see Kyle get on the field as WR to see what hes got, and actually I want Adams to replace Brown as the 3rd CB....

True that. That route R.White did that got 20 or so yards on that last drive for the falcons...didnt the saints do the exacttt same route against him to pick up a big first down as well? Looked familiar.

Agree this is the best draft in many years...gotta give Baalke a lot of credit. I want to see more of both Kyle Williams and Adams. Both guys are players and just need a chance to show what they can do. Brown's stinking up CB and needs to be demoted to dime, which would give Adams his shot. Williams will probably have to be content to shine on ST's for now...hard to move past any of our WR's at this point.

Also, Mike Johnson getting promoted is silver lining. In his first go as OC, he did what Jimmy Raye never could... score an opening series TD. Heck, Jimmy Raye couldn't even do it when we started in opponents red zones.
