If I was the 49ers coach with this current players here is my philosophy.
I would switch to West coast offense with a twist.
Offense:I'll draft or get 3 QBs, 2 speed WRs, 1 speed RB during off-season
Philosopy: Pass, pass, pass and attack. 4th Qtr run
Defense: 4-3 and I'll get 3 speedster DBs, 2 speedster DE
Special teams: this is important to me. I'll get 3 returners, with speed.

Singletary should give it up! I hope Singletary is man enough to admit that he does not cut it, no imagination, no clue in game planning, and no smarts as an NFL head coach!

I would get the X's and O's straight instead of just motivating and dropping my pants. Face it we have a circus clown for a HC.

1. Defensively, I'd get a lot more aggressive. Blitz, blitz, and blitz some more is what I say. And when we have opponents backed up in third and long situations, I'm not dropping everyone into coverage. If anyone wonders why we give up third and long so much, it is because we play conservative. Did you see the 3rd and 15 we allowed Atlanta to convert when they were backed up inside their own ten yard line yesterday? We sent a three man rush... Did it give anyone else de ja vu of critical stops that we missed from a season ago? It sure did for me. The Colts game came to mind right away.
2. Put offensive players on the field that want to play. Goodbye Josh Morgan, goodbye Moran Norris, (maybe) goodbye Michael Crabtree. In your place comes Jason Hill, Zeigler and Nate Byham. Last week against KC I saw the best play by a WR all season. It was Zeigler laying out for a 19 yard gain on 3rd and 15. Zeigs dove and caught the ball, and we moved the chains. And after that, I think the coaches sent him back to the bench...
3. I tell Alex Smith I believe in him, but if he can't go out and get the win against Philly this week, his starting gig is getting passed onto the next guy.

If I was Singletary, I'd pick-up Alex Smith from his house and drive us both off a cliff...

Offensively - Bench Smith and give one of our backups a chance.
Defensively - Start our young players.

actually coach the team, prepare for opponents and force players to be accountable for their performances.

when we were blitzing Ryan, our D looked sick. We backed off on that final drive and it proved to be fatal.
One move they made this year that I do like, is moving Nate in the nickle and dime.

What amazes me is how our defense always gets smoked when we go conservative, yet we continue to do it time and time again. We really do have incompetent coaches that can't seem to correct their mistakes. Or do we? I have a feeling it is Singletary who calls for the conservative D in crucial situations, just as he does on the offensive side of the ball. That might not be true, but it wouldn't surprise me the least bit.
