These kinda games makes teams better.

I really hope this left a bad taste in their mouth!

WOW... did anyone else notice this quote from Alex in the video (about Moran Norris)...

ALEX SMITH - "4th and 1 and he (Norris) had that kind of mistake it just hurts"

I'm pretty sure taking ownership DOES NOT involve throwing your teammate under the bus with that postgame comment.

Looked apathetic. No fire. NONE!

I agree with jrg, but also with the quoted above.

It is only one game, but at the same time, opening day is supposed to be that first "real" benchmark of your team. I was disgusted with what I saw. I don't think I saw a single player on the team really play an all around good game.

I agree with this. Respect is earned. We quit on THEM? No. THEY quit. I hope this embarrassment wakes them up.
As you guys know, I am one of the most supportive and optimistic fans we have. I now can say without hesitation for the first time that we truly were the "Laughingstock" of the NFL yesterday, not the Raiders. Even though it is just one out of 16, the message we sent to the NFL only makes us all the more laughable.

Now, there's huge doubt. Not only in our own fan base which we knew was going to happen if we came out and lost, but more importantly in our own team. The offense will have questions about its leader in Smith and in Raye. Your own HC called you out Alex and rightfully so. To be the laughingstock of the NFL when you're supposed to be a contender only clouds more the murkiness that already exists.

I am going to still be rooting for Alex and our team because he is our QB. Do we think we need a change there. Eventually so because Alex just isn't cutting it when he has to. Way too many mistakes for this kind of performance, way too many. He was on to begin with those nice drives in the first, but he needed to FINISH!

Wasn't that like a Motto for them? Finish? Couldn't be more correct.

Yes, it is one game. This one game was the cumulation of what our Niners were supposed to be. Well, it was and it was bad. So, yes it was one game, but it said loud and clear...

...laughingstock.

Time to move on...

because if it didn't then this season is over
lol, i remember everyone saying that games like the Atlanta game last year is what teams need to make them better. I guess we need games like this every year. I have a feeling this will not be the only game this season of this sort. Monday's game comes to mind.
It isn't just the loss, it is the way they lost. I thought for once they would be over this. These types of games where they come out and just appear to be so dis-organized and unprepared. Almost like they don't care.

This was the worst weekend for me. It is my birthday today. The weekend was pretty boring, as no one was around to do anything. I waited all weekend for this game to cheer me up.

After the game was over I was going to purchase my tickets, flight, etc to go see three games this year (I go down to San Fran at least once a year for a game). Now I don't even feel like going.

I had a couple beliefs this off season about this team. One of them being yours, that we were over losses of this sort. The other being that we'd surely make the playoffs.

Happy belated B-day... and i couldn't agree more becaue of the "manner" in which this team lost. It was down-right horrible and ill-prepared.

This is fundamental stuff; no excuses and getting "Really" tired of the head-set b.s.
Granted - i would still be pi**ed if we lost a more competitive game, but this loss has me seriously worried. I am convinced that this coaching staff doesn't know how to call plays to our strengths. And what happens is we end up shooting ourselves in the foot.

I'm already prepared to start the season 0-2 and hate to admit that, but even with all our weapons, this coaching staff still doesn't seem to get it.

fixed.
thread title should be, "ITS ONE GAME!!!! AFTER ANOTHER, AFTER ANOTHER"
I will say that this was a pretty depressing game to watch... Especially after how we played last year. When the Niners lost a game last year at least they kept it close, and almost came back. They didn't lay an egg. (Besides the Falcons game of course)

This game reminded me of the either Monday Night, or Sunday Night football game at Seattle we played in 2007. Where we couldn't do s**t on offense and lost like 21-0?

Just really depressing..... I'm by no means an Alex Smith hater, but wtf man... No excuses. Make the plays when they're there, right in front of you. Don't just "loft" the ball right over them... Alex does not always have great games, so I haven't fully given up on him yet. I'm going to give him until game 4, and if he doesn't play well in that one or the next 2, I'm done believing in his ass. We deserve better than this s**t.. We looked like the old f**king mike Nolan team.

Just a s**tty game........ I'd rather lose by the field goal we lost to last year than lose the way we lost yesterday. Anyone can agree with that.

I didn't see anything good from this game. Play across the board was bad. Play calling was bad, it even looked like the players gave up at the end. Usually in the past even if we got beat the players gave it their all. I didn't see that. Hopefully this lights a fire under their asses and get's them going. I still feel sick to my stomach

Thanks (it is actually my bday today)..

Just so dis-heartening. I was really looking forward to my annual trip down but now I could care less. Why do I want to spend a couple grand to go see what we saw on Sunday.
