haha...these are starting to sound like Chuck Norris jokes.

Patrick Willis doesn't do push ups, he pushes the ground down.

I guess the Niners are still worried about teams lining up with 8 WR's. 11 DB's?????????????? And we all thought one or two of those guys would get poop-canned after final cuts were made and other players (MLB) available.

Tramaine Brock....now that's a great 53rd man on the team. Who needs Michael Robinson?

Well have any good ILB's become available yet?

I guess none better than having a sixth CB on the team in Brock. Our current backup for Willis, according to Singletary, is a guy with a lacerated kidney.

Oddness in 49ers land.

Cheers.

P.S. Just a note to those playing at home: Captains do not sit on the bench on offense and defense.

Double Cheers.

Hmm really?
Damn so Michael Robinson must of seen a whole lot of playing time

Nice try!!! You know that special teams captains are a different animal than offensive and defensive captains. That was Robinson's main role, and is quite different than having Tarell Brown as a captain.

I have never been a Robinson fan, hated the draft pick and never joined tge bandwaggon. Special team aces that are not k, p, ls are a dime a dozen.

What's done is done. Nothing you or anyone else can do, man. No need to get worked up about it.

You are right. What is done is done. However, it is not a good roster decision, hence my dripping sarcasm.

Maddog,
Appealing to your logical side, if Robinson were still on the team and Brock was not, who would you declare inactive on game day so Robinson could be active?
These would be my choices:
1. Troy Smith
2. Kyle Williams
3. Alex Boone
4. Eric Heitmann
5. Diyral Briggs
6. Curtis Taylor
7. Will James
8. ?

Here would be the list
Due to injuries in Game One:
1. Heitmann
2. James
3. Brooks
4. Williams
Plus, these healthy scratches
5. Curtis Taylor
6. Alex Boone
7. Diyral Briggs
8. Troy Smith

If Robinson was on the roster, then Snyder or Wragge would be the final inactive, as teams generally take only 7 OL on the 45 man roster on Sundays.

Im glad our biggest concerns are over our 6th CB vs a Special Teamer. Shows how far our team has come.

You can see that Robinson was competing against Taylor and Briggs for one of the last active spot on gamedays (as far as ST roles). Both those guys could be primary backups as soon as next season and need whatever gameday experience they can get, which makes it alot easier to understand why Robinson got cut.

I'm far from an expert but I like what I saw, plus I'm not scared of Seattles rush. Will be a good way to break him in to the NFL. On the road, but not a talented opponent.
that scares me no back up?

WORD! Right Tackle has been a gaping hole for team, but things are looking up. That said, Davis is still a rookie.
There will be growing pains with the rooks early in the season. The first game could be a little rough for him. Seattle's home crowd can get loud, it will be very important to take them out of the game early.
Davis is on an island out there at RT, his mistakes will be loud and clear for everyone to see. Iupati's mistakes will be harder to see to the untrained eye because he plays in the middle of the line.

I do expect these guys to be great players. Just not early in the season.

The question the team has to ask is:
Is it more important to have a third stringer in 2010 who could possibly be a second stringer in 2011? Or is it more important to have a player who is going to make an immediate impact on special teams now, as one of the better special teamers in the NFL.

In my estimation, I'll take the difference maker now, and take a risk that the third teamers, who have little chance of starting, clear waivers for the Practice Squad.
I expect Taylor and Briggs to play very few games in 2010.
