I think this whole thing is funnyVernon is the team captain. Took upon himself to motivate his teammates. But he's not a motivator on the level of Singletary. So instead of motivating, Vernon just end up pissing off his teammates.
Uhhh, more like he put them in their place....@ you...
Whatever. He didn't put anyone in their place. Certainly not Crabtree. The dude worked out on his own while holding out so he could be ready to play when signed. And it showed last year. Came in a be effective right away for us.
Yeah, he played "pretty effective", just imagine how GREAT he *could* have been, if he had a good work ethic...
I would have supported a full beat down by Davis to Crabtree if it meant Crabtree would improve his work ethic.
How do you think Crabtree's work ethic would have been recieved by Jerry Rice and even T.O. when they were here...
OK, Davis may motivate Crabtree to be better, but you don't question his work ethic. That would be disrespectful to Crabtree, because he has shown he has a good work ethic. That is probably why Sing was saying Davis went about it the wrong way.

I agree. But the fight isn't what concerns me, it's the possible origin of the fight. That is, Crabtree's work ethic/ attitude (possibly). I dont care how good he thinks he is or isnt, he aint better than PWilly, Gore or even Davis at this point and all of them have paid and pay their dues in practice.
Jerry Rice went to practice!
Seriously!
If I was coach of the Niners (We would totally suck), but I would definitly make them watch film and history of the franchise greats a couple times a year.
Do you know what would even be better...
On an off day, when Crabtree comes to the facility, he's called into Sings office where, when he walks in he see's Jerry Rice and Singletary both wearing their HOF yellow blazers, accompanied by each of their respective Superbowl rings.
Then they take off their jackets and are dressed in workout clothing. At this time Crabtree is instructed to get dressed in running atire.
Crabtree is then taken to Jerry Rice's famed mountain, where Rice and Singletary outrun him to the top.
I don't know if the two old timers still have it in them, but I would bet they have enough left in the tank to show up Crabtree, especially with his work ethic.
That would be an amazing day of enlightenment...

I've never heard it reported that Crabtree has a good work ethic. Actually, I've heard the opposite and in his interviews, Crabtree has acted smug and as if he's owed something.
Him being put in his place might work wonders for his career.

This will be forgotten about so quickly once the season starts.

You are judging his work ethic by the way he look and talk during interviews... I thought he were having a good discussion but this is getting out of hand

Well the only reason I judged him by the interviews is because when everyone else is practicing, he's doing interviews....

Didn't they say last season that crabtree was able to start right away because he worked out in florida (while holding out).
I've heard about his good work ethic (mike leach) and Singletary praised Crabtree's work ethic Tuesday, saying the receiver undoubtedly was working out on his own."

OK, I'm sold. Crabtree deserved a major beat down by Davis!

Working out at home doesn't show that you have a good work ethic. Have you ever been to the gym in the middle of the day when you're supposed to be at work?
Also, this link is from a year ago when Crabtree was undoubtedly still finishing up his rehab from his injury.
Good work ethic, (and furthermore) good charactor, would have been shown by him making it to camp on time, putting in the work and earning his teammates respect which would have UNDOUBTEDLY led to him contributing to early season wins in games we lost and earning him a hands dow ROTY award...
That's the difference.

If this is true that vd called him out because he is half assing training camp then the bigger problem is the fact that Alex Smith didn't do this. It just shows that he is still no leader of this team, this is something the quarterback the leader off the team should be doing.
