Hill keeps dropping passes in practice
If you don't make catches in practice, how can they trust you to make them on game day.
They seem to want to trot Ginn out there as a receiver...
P.S. I haven't read that Hill "keeps dropping passes in practice" anywhere.
Reading the practice notes from this website, I've seen Hill's name mentioned two or three times for dropping balls in practice. I don't think that is the same as "all the time" though.

Not our number 2, but definitely a guy that can contribute.

Chicago has a lot better receivers than us, so I doubt they're in need. But I do agree on Hill. I prefer him over Morgan as well, but all accounts make it seem as if he is on his way out. My money says he ends up on the Hawks if he gets cut.
I hope you're not serious...
Why? I can't be honest. Knox, Hester, Aromashadu, Bennett... they can all play. I'd take Crabtree over all of them, but as a unit, I'd take their guys over ours.
You might take them over ours, but I doubt Martz would if given the choice.
As for the original question, no I don't see Z being a #2. If the team keeps him on the roster this season, I could see him working his way past Ginn and taking over the #3 spot. Even then, Ginn would have to help him out by dropping alot of
balls.
HA! BALLS!

If Jason Hill gets cut, it looks like Minnesota might gladly swoop him up. I wonder how he might do in the Minnesota offense... hmmm.... (Yes, I'm doing some major speculating.)

No I can't. He may not make the final roster.

You need to start paying attention to the team again SanDiego49er, but wait, aren't you like the 49er player hater fan of the decade?

He didn't make the final roster last year.

Raye said he would have made the team a year ago if he didn't hurt his ankle. Raye made that comment last week. I'm not sure you're aware, but your opinion of Zeig not making the team is unlikely at this point.

Or the year before that, or the year before that. (on teams generally devoid of WR talent/depth)
I can't think of an undrafted player that was cut after his first three consecutive training camps making a team and becoming a starter the next year. Especially when the talent/depth of his position on that team has gotten better during that time. That would be pretty remarkable. Making the team would be a nice first step.

Last year an ankle injury solidified his fate on the PS. Year before he was an UFA, needed work coming out of Baylor. But he has put in the work now and is ready to roll. He's our #4 receiver, count it!

Did he? Or id he say he was in contention to make the team? Just want you to know he never said those words anywhere I can find. He sai dhe was having a great camp, and that he didn't have a chance to make the team because of the injury, not that he definitely would have had he not been injured.

You are missing a year. Last year was his third year getting cut, and Hill & Jones made the team even though they were injured and wouldn't be available for weeks into the season. I know that some of that was due to what the team owed Jones and Hill being a 4th round pick the year before but it's not like the team had a lot of talent at WR or Zeigler's injury was going to keep him out for long.

Whether you believe Zeigler is good enough to be #2, #3, #4, or even the #5 reciever one thing is clear, if the roster was picked today, he would make the team.
Raye and Sing have been praising him all camp, and his effort the other night(in the lineup ahead of Hill FYI) was solid.
I think the biggest clue that he is a lock to make the roster, comes from the fact he didn't do any punt returning... It appears that Sing doesn't think he needs to standout as a returner to grab a spot.
In any event, barring injury, I'd bet a large sum on Zeigler being on the final 53 this year.
