if nothing else, could be a good thing as well, playing safety and all

Very true. Also means good play by our DL and LB's if he's not making many tackles.

you clearly do not understand football. Singletary raced to mays afterwards and hugged him.

Phillip Adams has been a nice surprise. Hope he makes the team.

Mays has made a good play in both games so far. Next year he will be beasts

Adams has seventh round steal written all over him.

It was a good hit and he made a good play against the Colts as well....but right now I don't think he's playing that well.

He's been missing some tackles and I see him standing and watching alot when people are making a tackle.

I'm not saying he won't develop, I'm just saying right now he seems very unsure of what he's doing and is very tentative.

I think that we generally like to slow the development of our safeties since they bear so much responsibility in our defense.

It took Goldson a few years before he took the field. And it's now taken R. Smith a few years as well before we've heard that he's lighting up the practice field.

Plus, Mays was never going to unseat Lewis, I think we'll hear more about him in the coming years. He seems to have the right attitude and work ethic.

Yes, he does. Dude is physical and has an attitude.
I'm rooting for Mays, but I need to see more from him. I was hoping he would crack the starting lineup. As for the hit, I thought it was average. I remember Sean Taylor and Roy Williams making bigger hits in preseason their rookie years.

Not being a downer, just saying Mays needs to do more.

No s**t! we're only going into our 3rd game of the preseason.

I hope you're right about Adams. I've seen the Niners draft so many terrible corners throughout the years, while other teams draft great corners in the lower rounds. We need help at that position asap.

Absolutely, that's why I would have thought we would have seen more by now...

Ya I know ha? I'd have had Reggie Smith or Mays on Greg Lewis any day over sorry ass Mark Roman. I guess that was part of the 49ers growing pains. Now it's time for us to weak havoc on the league.
