Alex Smith is the definition of bland. He is a bowl of mush with a mashed potato sandwich.

How so? It isn't Smith making the offensive calls. Smith has made some deep throws in his career. Anyone remember his one year in Turner's offense?

Alex would need to perform well for at least 2 seasons before we can think of an extension.
I think he played quite well today, though it was just one series. It is even better that he did all this without VD, Gore and Crabtree.
Of course, the much better news is that our OLine played well against one of the best front 4 in the NFL.

He played like a starting QB tonight, showed good pocket awareness and made the right reads. He had a pass dropped that was a bit high for Ginn, Crabtree makes that play though.

This is the last year of his contract so a decision would need to be reached sooner than two years.

Its going to be an amazing story when the Niners run away with the NFC West, and A.Smith plays his best football posting 3,500+yds 24+td -15int

Put down the poisoned Kool-Aid please... Why the hell would we give a guy an extension when he's our only real big weakness. Jeez I mean I'd rather have Nate Davis starting at this point, cuz at least if he screws up we can blame it on a learning disability. When Alex screws well that's the Alex Smith, a walking dummy and a joke of a Draft pick. Extension, my word can we extend Adam Snyder and Jason Hill too? Gosh...

Alex Smith playing his best football? What the hell does that mean? He's just playing less idiodic now? He's less sucky, but still sucky. And yeah we can still win the west and go to the Playoffs. but cuz of our running game and our defense, and then we'd just pull a Panthers of a couple years ago and get blown out in our first Playoff game, cuz of our joke of a QB. Cuz hell that's basically what we are, great running game, solid defense, with a dummy of a QB.

A.Smith played well tonight (albeit preseason) without Gore,Davis,Crabtree and we still have haters making unintelligent contradictory statements

Alex Smith is the starting QB for the San Francisco 49ers now and will continue to be by playing like he did against the Vikings so my question is why keep going with your endless bs?By wanting Smith to fail you want the team to fail because he is the key to their success and that means you're not a 49er fan so why bother?
Nothing better to do in life???
