haha, forgot about that.
That sucks soo bad. someone BETTER step up or we are in TROUBLE early on this season.
Wow, not really the news I wanted to hear after getting home from work.............but hey, it's a physical sport and injuries are going to happen.

Hopefully we get Heitmann back by game 2, he is a vet and he will jump right back into the flow of things when he is ready.

I hope Eric heals to 100% and can continue to play football, but I've got to admit, I think this is an opportunity for our O-line to get even better. I think Eric has strengths at the position, but I also think he is "weak" in terms of physical power compared to most NFL centers. If Baas can take this opportunity and make the most of it, I think our starting O-line has the possibility of being better... however, we'll miss the depth. Also, if Wallace can't step up, this will be his last year on the team.. that is if he even makes it out of camp.

Who knows. I mean confidence and comfortableness can do wonders and it seems as though Baas is most comfortable at Center. I mean, look at Barry Simms and the difference of his play from RT to LT.

What are you talking about...he's been backing up at Center for like a week....how do you know where he is comfortable at?

He was voted top center in college football his Senior year at Michigan and several teams had him rated higher as a center than guard, coming out of college.

Just say'n

Get well soon Heitmann!

Ok Baas, this is a Huge oppurtunity for you, time to step up big guy

Im ok with Wragge at center also, but I'd love to see Baas do well there
and have big powerfull center option to consider for the future

good thing we have Iupati
I'm not as worried for 2 reasons:

#1 it looks as if he might just miss 1-2 regular season games
#2 David Baas was a center in college so it's nothing new to him.

I would have my doubts if we had no reliable backup but this might be a blessing in disguise. Maybe Baas could prove he's the center of the future cause he's not beating out Iupati from here on out.

We have a bigger line with Baas in at center. Depending on any further damage they find, Heitmann should only miss the opener.
