I've posted this on other boards and seen it posted by others. I'm sure it's been debated ad nausea on this site as well, but the circumstance remains; we're still being force fudged into watching our games on a camera angle that's out of date.

This standard broadcast I'm watching is boring me. I'm sure the networks think I wanna see paint chips flying and mouth guards helicoptering, but what I really want to see is what's happening on the goddamn field. I'm not learning anything new by watching the lines kick the piss out of each other; I've seen it...over 100 times a game

I'm ready to see the things on the periphery like the battles going on between the corners and wide outs, or the decisions the safeties are making. I wanna see it coming when Smitty doesn't look off the safety so I can yell "LOOK OFF THE SAFETY AL, YOU RETARD"...and then I'd look at my buddies and I'd be all

I think we all could agree that the best angle to watch is the 1 the teams use to review tape on. If CBS or whoever wants to zoom the hell out of the camera after the ball is out of the QB's hand then go ahead; I think that would be cool. Most important thing is letting us see everything prior to the play being made. That alone will up the average football fans IQ (and entertainment value imo) ten fold...at least.

I know NBC has an online feed that offers different angles and while I've never watched a game on their site I'm positive that stream isn't free and it's probably just that stupid cable cam. I despise cable cam; it's still too damn close. Besides, I don't wanna watch games on a computer.

Anyhoo, I could jabber merit all day so I'll shut myself up. Please email all the networks if you support. They have a hard time reading and listening with their heads up their asses but maybe sheer volume of emails will get their attention.

Cheers big ears
cheers!
They always have and always will focus on the ball....
i think if they did that and zoomed out everytime the qb threw the ball it would be really dizzying. it looks alright the way they do it right now, to me atleast
Write your congressman.
imsry but from feeds ive seen the cams are far better than the uk in the uk the camera is in the crowd more than its actully on the game yes this is a universal problem but nfl games have far better veiw of the game did ya watch the world cup anyone now thats 1 dimentional cameras
I like how the cameraman follows the QB and team onto the field and into the huddle on Monday Nights!

put a camera in the ball already will ya... and in the helmets

I certainly thought "broaden my horizontal" would have a different meaning than what you typed about.

Well goddamn Scotsman. I thought you of all people would be on board with the wide angle view lol! Looks like I'm the overwhelmed minority on this 1.

I'm a huge fan of the footy though and I dig the wide telecast. The only way to truly enjoy that game is live but when I'm watching on television I prefer to see the entire field (or as much as they allow). I think to appreciate that game you have to be able to see what's happening away from the ball. Otherwise, it seems like your just staring at a series of purpose-less passes.

Guess I'm just more curious as to how a passing play evolves rather than just seeing the end product. I also think watching the running game from behind the O-line would look much cooler

You underestimate my sneaky. This thread F'n bombed! I'll put up a disclaimer next time I post. How about..."You may want the last 5 min. of your life back after reading. NO REFUNDS"
There's only one solution - GO TO THE GAMES!
1.) it's ad nauseum
2.) with 16:9 aspect ratio on the new tv screens (rectangular tvs) and especially with HD should be able to see all the players on the field at the snap of the ball
