I agree, Jones might take Hill's spot if Hill doesn't perform in TC though.
I hoping Ginn can do well in the slot but we'll see. I'm not a fan of Williams' father but I hope he does well this season.
Keep
15 Crabtree, Michael WR 6-1 214 22 R Texas Tech
19 Ginn, Ted Jr. WR 5-11 180 25 4 Ohio State
84 Morgan, Josh WR 6-0 219 24 2 Virginia Tech
10 Williams, Kyle WR 5-11 186 R Arizona State

One of these guys probably goes unless Williams is a Return Specialist.
89 Hill, Jason WR 6-0 202 25 3 Washington State
81 Jones, Brandon WR 6-1 212 27 5 Oklahoma

Cut
13 Grant, Bakari WR 6-3 195 R UC-Davis
17 Zeigler, Dominique WR 6-3 185 25 2 Baylor
Dont think you can keep a man on your practice squad for more than 2 or 3 years so Ziegler would have to be cut)
14 Perry, Jared WR 6-1 177 22 R Missouri

Practice Squad
18 Long, Scott WR 6-2 216 23 R Louisville
15 Crabtree, Michael WR 6-1 214 22 R Texas Tech
19 Ginn, Ted Jr. WR 5-11 180 25 4 Ohio State
84 Morgan, Josh WR 6-0 219 24 2 Virginia Tech
10 Williams, Kyle WR 5-11 186 R Arizona State
89 Hill, Jason WR 6-0 202 25 3 Washington State
81 Jones, Brandon WR 6-1 212 27 5 Oklahoma

Keep all 6. One is our Return Ginnious

** Isaac Bruce is expected to retire.

I think the 49ers keep:

Michael Crabtree
Josh Morgan
Ted Ginn Jr.
Kyle Williams
Jason Hill

I like this list, but I wouldn't count on Ginn if he keeps dropping passes. Singltary's #1 priority is ball security.

Crabtree
Morgan
Ginn
Hill
Williams

I think Ginn and Hill are interchangerable depending on Ginns dropsies continuing or not. It would have been nice to pick up another "solid" WR but I think we work with this group unless someone gets hurt or becomes available as a surprise release.
I think that we're carrying 6 or 7 on the Roster this year.

I think that we have enough losses from that unit that it kind of looks like this

Bruce-Retires

Battle-Steelers

Zeigler-Preseason cut, probably before the 1st game even.

I don't think that Ginn makes an immediate impact in the WR corps.

I don't believe that Williams does either.

I think that we'll see Ginn and Williams as our Kick Returners(who do you kick to if you're the opposing Kicker) and that Vann will more likely be our Punt Return Specialist.

If they are needed I'm sure they'll see time in the Offense but I don't see the need like alot of people here seem to. 1 ball 5 targets, you do the math. I think that when Davis catches his breather that DW should be on the field and then we send in our PR specialist(if he's used as a Chrebet type) instead of Morgan. Speed kills but so does elusiveness. Vann has that in spades. Empty Backfield then send Ginn on as deep route to suck defenders with him. Especially if he's on a flag route crossing Davis.

We had enough losses during the offseason where Jones is safe. He can alternate with Hill imho. Let them battle it out this season for who stays and who goes at the end of the season. It's the only way to answer whether or not a mistake was made bringing him in, cause honestly that injury he sustained the year before cut into his early playing time. Not that 13 could have got the ball to him anyway.

I do not see why everyone is crying about Jones, I remember hearing he was doing really well in the OTA's last year before he got hurt. Why would you want to cut him if he turns out to be a valuable asset to the wr corps. He is probably safer than Ginn if he cannot learn to catch the ball consistently.
I think we keep 6:

Michael Crabtree
Josh Morgan
Ted Ginn Jr.
Kyle Williams
Jason Hill
Brandon Jones
I wish Zeigler would put on some muscle, it'd be nice to have at least one WR who is above 6'1
Michael Crabtree
Josh Morgan

Jason Hill
Kyle Williams

GET THE f**k OUTTA HERE JONES!

He's not a hard worker. Plenty of receivers bulk up in the offseason. He's just lazy.

agree with this list. We don't need any more WRs as they will be cutting down on the shotgun now that we actually should have an effective Oline
