Gotta see the details. Maybe they promised him a huge role in the offense and increased his possible incentives but decreased his garaunteed money.

Ginn agreed to reduce a 2011 base salary that had escalated to $2,218,750 down to $1 million for the upcoming season. Ginn's salary had increased from $1,393,750, and the 26-year-old does have the ability to earn $400,000 in undisclosed incentives.

Also, as part of the renegotiation, the final year of Ginn's contract ($1.8 million) has been deleted, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2012. (That season could have also voided on minimum playing-time but hadn't yet done so)

it was a million, FWIW. and who knows what message it sends to the locker room? it could be the message that, "Hey, if you don't have more than 12 catches a year, you're not going to be paid the same amount as our #1 WR." For all we know, it sends a positive message that production will get rewarded and that the salary hierarchy will reflect the players actual value to the team.

IDK. I'm glad we saved the million. We are going to need to spend it elsewhere than on the teams #4 WR.

Ginn to other players: " Hey you know these muther f**kers asked me to take a pay cut to save a few hundred grand and they started charging me for this stupid blue shirt I dont even want to wear"


Other player: " Yah man that aint s**t, do you know I have to cut Jed York's lawn on my off day just because he dont wonna pay the damn gardner."

Who cares, the niners did their part and Ginn did his. He wants more money-then work it.

They just re-upped Gore, so at least they pay when a guy is getting it done. I think it sends a message that guys are gonna be held accountable for better and for worse
