haha, I was contemplating this ideal today. If any team called us for Patrick Willis, would I do a trade. I considered some names, but I wouldnt pull the trigger on any of them.

here is who came to mind:

Polamalu
Ware
Woodson
Revis
Jared Allen

nope, nope, nope, nope, and nope.

of those 5, only 2 would make me think longer than 1 sec. Ware and Revis. and even then, nope.

Willis is the heart of our D, and is a future HOF lock as long as he stays healthy. you dont trade that.

Allen, Ware and Revis play positions that are far more important on a football team and are all elite players. It'd be easier to find another pro bowl quality MLB'er than it would to find an elite OLB/DE or CB.

Polamalu -- coming off a major injury
Ware -- this is the only player I would consider
Woodson -- OLD
Revis -- outside of Woodson, CBs don't usually dominate for many years
Jared Allen -- could also make sense

If it was for Revis or Asomugha I wouldn't hang up immediately . . . but it would be tough to contemplate.

No, Willis is the most consistent Defensive Player in the NFL. He's not injured like Polamolu and Reed, he can play the entire field and doesn't have let down years like Ware last year. Reevis.. maybe, but then your talking about swapping a player who can shut down the top WR for a player who can shut down the majority of running plays, rush the passer, and drop back in coverage. So I would still go with Willis.
