Are you talking about '98?

If indeed you are (which was Owen's first 1,000 yard season), Rice had a better season. 1998 was the season Jerry Rice returned to football following damage to his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments and largely considered his last impact season with the 49ers.

I've included the statistics from that season below.

Owens - 67 Receptions, 1097 Yards, 14 Touchdowns
Rice - 82 Receptions, 1157 Yards, 9 Touchdowns

If you remember, Cris Carter was voted in that season despite below average numbers (largely due to then rookie Randy Moss).

Carter - 78 Receptions, 1011 Yards, 12 Touchdowns

With shaun hill and alex smith. two different qb's. not nearly as talented or highly thought off as there qb's.
He didn't even put in Andy Lee. Ha ha ha, bogus list.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get in. He deserves it for sure, but who knows.

On that note, F CARRUCI
He will be wrong!

Sus is right...the pro bowl is nothing more than a popularity contest. VD catches one or two more TD's and he will go in the record books as the highest scoring TE in NFL history, that speaks for itself.

How sad that a popularity driven exhibition game makes some so upset that they hope for harm onto others when they disagree with their opinion.

1- VD does not lead in TD's for TE's by a mile. He is 2 ahead of Shiancoe.

2- Witten and Gonzo have more catches. Davis does have 50 yards on Gonzo but both have more 1st downs than VD.

VD is very deserving however Gonzo and Witten are still vital parts of their respective teams and are also deserving. Unfortunately someone won't get in but I won't lose any sleep over this or hope that VC gets hit by a bus because I dislike what he wrote.

Hopefully VD gets in but if he doesn't that will not take away from the great season he had (minus those drops).
Such fvcking bulls**t.

Witten is Eric Johnson like someone said. Not bad but nothing spectacular IMO. Put him on another team w/o Romo and he dissapears IMO.

Gonzalez is fine by me out of respect if anything. Still contributing at his age and making Matt Ryan look good. Truly a play maker.

VD should be a lock. F the NFL and their stupid biases.

Whitten is the real deal man. So is VD, like I said, if he catches one more TD, he goes into the record books as the highest scoring TE. I hope he doesn't make it this year so he can use it to further motivate himself to raise his level of play to another level.
