I cannot believe this guy was starting for us just a few years ago. He was the worst stating ILB in the NFL!

You were the epitome of class, teammate, and determination. You never gave up. You always helped. You will always be a 49er!
God Bless and happy retirement or should I say happy coaching!
Thanks for the memories!

I hate to see him go, he was a warrior. Its sad to see guys like brich and BY play there buts off for so long and not get to see a team succeed around them in there final days. The thing that stands out the most to me was the 2005 season when Nolan and Sing put him next to Derrick Smith in the 3-4 and he was playing out of his mind for the first 4-5 games and then went IR. he was leading the team in tackles that year through the first 4 games. But it always seemed like when a player went down he could step in and do it all at a high level.

He displayed a lot of passion and heart in his ten year stay with the 49ers. I wish him nothing but the best in his future coaching pursuits. Who knows, one day he might be back with the 49ers is some capacity. Overachieving players who weren’t naturally great often times make the very best coaches.
