Manny Lawson And Brooks

His speed has not translated into Patrick Willis type of production but his production like many have hoped out of him, but hasn't he been stepping his game up as the coaches have been challenging him. Seems like since the coaches have taken away more of his pass rushing opportunities he has gotten to the QB more. HE HAS 5 SACKS IN THE LAST 7 GAMES, He has forced 2 fumbles in the last two weeks. He doesn't look pretty out there but he's starting to get the job done. Brooks may have been the push the other two LB needed to help bring pressure to the QB. He constantly pushes the pocket and seems to be getting better every week. He was a stud coming out of college but hasn't shown it in the NFL. It seems as his confidence grows he has become a better pass rusher. Since he has pushed the other guys for more playing time the pass rush has produced sacks. Since he has been starting the nickel pass rush the 49ers have produced 11 sacks in two games. If 49ers continue this through the rest of the season I don't think they should force the issue in getting a pass rusher. What do you think???

I don't think he has panned out the way we had anticipated before the season began. We signed him because we thought he was the puzzle our defense had been lacking for a long time but so far, he really hasn't satisfied that role and our expectations

The point of the 3-4 is you're always bringing in pass rushers. With the draft this year they can be had in the 3rd and 4th round. I do not think the 49ers need one immediately. Their pass rush, like the rest of the team, is inconsistent but we have all the tools to get the job done. Brooks is going to be good. Lawson is improving. I think Parys has been hurt all year. I see no need to go digging into the early round for a pass rusher.

Yeah, I think if you look at the defense from top to bottom our biggest need is at the safety spot, particularly FS. Most of our DB's getting burned has more to do with Goldson than anyone else.

With manny and brookes stepping up I dont think a pass rusher is as big a need. I say OL, BPA, then pass rusher

Goldson hasn't made all the plays you want but I can see him staying on the field. He's second on the team in tackles, he seems to be calling the plays in the huddle for the secondary. I don't mind drafting over him though
