I have to agree.
Anyone who says VD isn't taking his drops into consideration.

our line and our spread offense are more of a reason why his numbers are going down.

Gore is a very good pro set I-formation running back stuck in a spread offence. 49ers have a QB that can't run a pro set and a RB that isn't suited for the spread. Unfortunately for Gore the 49ers have more players suited for the spread. Gore is going to be the odd man out.
If the 49ers commit to this offense it's time to draft another RB. Plenty of spread formation RBs to be had in the draft. Steve Young even said if the 49ers commit to the spread they should trade Gore.

Let's calm down about getting rid of Gore. We need better guards play for Gore which we can do next year. Frank will be fine. We also need a shifty, speedier back to go along with Gore when we go shotgun. I'm not buying that Gore is good in the shotgun like in recent threads. We have no running game, Smith and the receivers are keeping us competitive, but defense will figured out we can't run the ball. Ironic.
It was a total team loss today. Smith played pretty good at the qb position today, but wasn't enough for a win today.

Gore is not the best weapon at all anymore. I have totally changed my mind for the draft. We do need CJ Spiller and I admit I was wrong about that. Another playmaker at RB is a must.

then i would take smith over gore since the QB is way more important than getting a RB, RBs are the easiest position to learn.
