Whats been all this talk of "he's not ready, we'll bring him in slowly, etc, etc." All those receivers put in the work throughout TC and so far through the season, and they're going to get leapfrogged by some kid who doesn't even know the "route tree"?

Has he done anything in practice to warrant it? Morgan has certainly underachieved and made some bad blunders this season but I would like to think that crabs would actually have to do something in order to take his job.

Bad, bad idea.

Dude you can't deny his talent obviously he is our best WR that is why he is being promoted. The team wants to win it's not about being fair. Our receivers haven't impress thank god for the change. It's like demoting Chilo Rachal when he has played terrible but gotta do it to win it's part of the game! WE PLAY TO WIN!

"I'm helping him learn my position and take my position," said Morgan, who ranks second on the 49ers behind Vernon Davis in receiving. Morgan has 13 catches for 202 yards and one touchdown. "It is what it is. If he can help us win, I'm all right with that.

"They gave him my spot. So if he's going to be in there, I might as well help him out so I can make sure he gets it right."

I still think Morgan is an explosive player. He is still young and I do not think Crabtree has earned the right to take his spot no matter how good he did in practice.

Hell eventually start on the opposite side of Crabtree. Right now though Crabtree is just more talented than Morgan right now. Its crazy because Crabtree missed a sh*t load of time. Imagine if he was here since the begining.

Morgan seems happy to give his job away. I dunno about this
Crabtree's stats vs the Texans: 6 catches 98 yards 1td
I hope I'm proven wrong next week and Crabtree is dominant, but I'd like to think that this team is built more on accountability than anything. Again, hope I'm wrong, hope Crabtree is as good as advertised and theres no way the coaches can keep him out of the starting lineup. But since he hasn't even practiced with the starting offense I think this is extremely premature.

I hope its a good sign, but I can't help feeling that its a bad sign.

I see what you're saying, but after watching Singletary's "tough love" video...it seems that Sing is not the type to favor individuals, he calls them by their numbers and not their names, and if they're not doing their best, he will make changes.

I just hope this also will imply to Shaun Hill.

damn that was fast. i just wish morgan was on the other side instead of Bruce. if anyone needs to be benched its bruce, he cant catch lately, has no speed, its all bad. id like to see crabtree opposite josh morgan or jason hill.

I agree bruce should be benched he's washed up. Should be the slot receiver in our team or the 3rd receiver.

i actually think at this point the best receiver we have is Jason Hill. i havent seen crabtree yet but as of the guys we had from last year Hill was the most consistent and sure handed one

We should just make Morgan our punt returner. He'll have basically the same job as he did before: catching punts.
Well, none of us has seen him practice so we can't really comment on if it's a bad idea or not...

he might be our most talented WR, but has he practiced with the 1st team yet? Does he know his plays, his responsibility?

We play to win, sure, but Sing's whole schtick has been about creating a certain kind of culture around the team and this seems to be the exact opposite of the message.

I would like to see him contribute before he gets anointed.

This team has lost it. One stupid decision after another.

It has more to do with the fact that Morgan and Crabtree play the same position, while Bruce plays another...with Brandon Jones in the slot.

I forget which is X, Y, Z, split end, flanker, etc. So feel free to correct me.
it really doesn't matter who starts @ WR, if Mario is getting to Shaun

yeah, I feel ya, and yes, it should apply to everyone, QB included. But does it make sense that the guy whose been on the team for 10 days gets a starting spot? Both Bruce and Morgan are struggling and there are 5 other WR's on the roster. Let them all get a shot to prove something. I just think this is silly, and, coupled with the Rachal/Snyder rotation, our personnel decisions this bye week show a lack of clarity and smack of desperation.
