GET ANGRY PEOPLE!!!!!! RALLY!!!

I can't speak for other people, but I am rather frustrated with the situation. Crabtree has no leverage in this negotiation. None what-so-ever.

In a previous post, I laid out my thoughts on why Crabtree will not be drafted in the top 10 of next daft. He stands to lose millions of dollars if he carries through with his threat to sit out the season.

Let's say he is drafted with the #20 pick. The 20th pick received $9.4M guaranteed this past season. Assuming a generous increase of 15%, the 20th pick will be worth around $11M next season. If this scenario holds true, Crabtree will lose $5M in guaranteed money.

It's frustrating watching a young man hurt his career like Crabtree is doing now.

I agree with you. He is being counseled by an agent who is giving him a bad start with his organization. Don't think if he makes another mistake while with the team, they won't forget this one.
AHHH Who cares about crabtree,

I'm over it, i dno why you guys are all sweatin him.

He's unproven, he didn't even have a combine, it's his loss,

i say were better without, until this guy comes, or if he even does, let's stop the damn crabtree talk, and these damn threads need to stop.

WHO CARES ABOUT CRABTREE!!!!! MOVE ON.

Make him EARN his way up to our roster.

That will humble Mr. Craptree.

lol, no way man. Sure hell have to earn his spot but no way in hell he goes to the PS. IF he signs, it'll be after some negotiations. We need him as much as he needs us.

Hey... while he humbles himself on the practice squad, if another team makes a claim on him, the 9ers can simply move him up to their active roster and keep him.

Plus any team trying to make a claim on him has to digest his huge salary, so would they have the cap space?

Im just saying, why not turn the tables on Mr.Cashtree, make him EARN his spot since everyone else went thru training camp and pre-season games to do so.

Someone has to bring Mr. Cashtree back down to earth.

please stop

Would it not be something if the 9ers "really" could do that though? Just to humble Craptree, just a little bit.

i really hope youre right but i dont want to get my hopes up again and then get dissapointed.

i dont buy it
the reason they removed Mitchell was to make room for Briggs since he got cut
to make room from Pashos on the active squad..........

yea i wish when Zoners say they feel he's signing with 48-72 hr period it would happen but am prepared already to NEVER seeing Crabtree in a niner uniform.

it boggles the mind that he's actually considering sitting out and re-entering the draft next year. As someone said, it "defies ALL logic".
Didn't see this posted, if it was, OH WELL!

Both sources believe that Crabtree has been told by other teams that they will take him in the first round of next year’s draft. However, because Crabtree would be delaying the chance to get to free agency by a year if he held out, he would have to go at least No. 7 overall in the draft in 2010 to make up for the lost ’09 salary. The 49ers could trade his rights prior to the draft in the offseason, but any money Crabtree would be paid would come out of the rookie salary cap for that year.

Not only is he off to a bad start with this organization that didn't pass him up like 9 others did this year. The niners kept him in the top 10. I'm totally tired of this situation. A guy that has no ounce of pride, to say I'll take 17 mill guaranteed and play my butt off to prove that I am not only better then DHB but the best receiver that has come out in years. Instead he is worried about money and not being the first WR off the board. Way to go. Just read in article that teams told him (Cashtree) that they would pick him in first round next year. Really. You would play a wideout that hasn't played in over a year with questionable motives. Does the name Mike Williams come to mind. Where is the guy nowadays? Out of football. Sorry guys, I'm just fed up with not only the niners not meeting halfways, but mostly Mr. Cashtree for not having an ounce of common sense and realizing his is hurting himself more then anything.
OUT OF SIGHT = OUT OF MIND!!

Look at this part of the column............

In the meantime, Crabtree has been staying and working out in the Bay Area. His father, Michael Sr., said his son was “just working to get bigger, stronger and faster.” The elder Crabtree, who said his son recently spent a day catching passes from former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer(notes), declined to talk about the contract.

Crabtree would be the first first-round pick to sit out the season since quarterback Kelly Stouffer in 1987.

kidnap Dilfer & make him spill his guts about Crabs!!!!!!!!

WHO THE HELL IS KELLY STOUFFER...............thats whats going to happen to you Crabs 20 years from now if u sit out lil b*tch!!!!!!!!

He wont. What worries me more is there are so many people who are saying he is wierd/ stubborn/ crazy/ stupid enough to do it. These are the statements adjectives used to discribe him.

Yes, but they didn't need to release ANYONE from the PS. They can have 8 and there is currently 7 on the squad.

After the season starts he will be in the back of our minds but completely out of everyone elses. It is then he will sign.
