AND so far his calls have been unreturned is a major sign of disrespect. At this point I don't think I want him on the 49ers. With the offense we have I don't think he would have any major impact until the QB situation is upgraded. Let him go back in the draft,
I now wish him nothing but the worst.

Isn't he still in Texas though?

all reports point to him being in Southbay

I got invited to Frank Gore's b-day party. I'm pretty sure Crabtree will be there. I'll let you guys know for sure.

Won't be able to take pics tho so you'll have to take my word for it.

Is that a belated B-Day Party? . . . his birthday is May 14th.

May 14 is the date listed on his birth certificate. Frankly, (no pun intended) I have doubts about the validity his birth certificate but lets not go there.

Update: I'm at Frank's birthday party now here somewhere in the South Bay and have managed to squeeze in on a conversation with Michael Crabtree. I just asked him about the team and he just said that it is killing him to not be out on the field with his teammates. I then asked him about DHB's contract and he said that's killing him even more, so that killer takes precedence over the former killer.

Update: Mike Nolan just ambled over and struck up a conversation with Crabtree. He says that since he is quite idle right now, he should take the opportunity to visit US troops in Afghanistan like Nolan did last year. Nolan says that Michael would be a great morale booster for our troops since he shares a common bond with our troops of just going out on the field and getting the job done despite all the distractions.

Right... cause Nolan wouldn't be in Denver for the Bronco's practice. I do like the last part as long as there was sarcasm in it.
sports center just said something about the niners discussing adjusting their offer to crabz. I caught the very end of it, so i missed most of the update.

Part of me hopes he signs, cause no doubt we could use a game-breaking player at that position. But the other part of me, could careless, there's always Dez Bryant in next years draft.

Crabtree was, and probably is a much better player then Dez Bryant.

I could careless, Dez Bryant is still one of the best out there, and would probably (hopefully) wouldn't pull the crap Crabtree is doing right now.

Bryant will be a much better pro WR than Crabtree IMO.

I love that we drafted crabtree he will sign people he will sign

Lets make a poll: How long till Crabtree's first DUI?

He's got nothing to do, he's got cash and free time, and didn't he just turn 21? It's gonna happen...

Why do you ninnies continue to think Crabtree won't have any impact with the QB we have? Did you watch him in college? He produced short, med, and long. He had a ton of screen passes that he turned into monster gains. And is his former college QB playing in the NFL?

How many safeties and cornerbacks that he played against are in the NFL? I loved Crabtree in college but he was a man playing against boys, in the NFL cornerbacks can tackle, and Safeties have enough range to take heads off receivers.

Yeah that's how he's going to have to play in the NFL...create separation immediately and then make people miss. He doesn't have top end speed and could never really get away from players in college (like Frank Gore in 2006).

Yeah you are correct, gonna have to run very crisp routes as well, I never thought Crabtree would be much of anything in the NFL. Did not want him here from day 1.

He will also need to keep that ball tucked in, he likes holding it away from his body but that sh*t will get knocked out every time against NFL defenders.

Could Crabtree be looking to maximize his 2nd contract? At first glance, the 49ers do not appear to be a team where WR's can put up big numbers. The HC flat out says that he wants to run the ball 60% of the time. The 49ers also have issues at QB.

Crabtree's camp could be looking at the total NPV of his NFL career. If he stays with the 49ers and the offense does not improve, there is the possibility that his receiving numbers take a hit and the NPV of his career decreases. If he takes less money but goes to play with an effective NFL QB, then he will most likely have better numbers which in turn leads to a larger 2nd contract.

It is thinking like this that lead to the whole Enron debacle.

Was he held back in highschool? I thought your Junior year in college is when you hit 21, oh well no biggie. I still think he has a DUI or two in his future, hopefully its after we trade his rights to dallas.

Todd McShay and Michael Smith spoke about the holdout on SportsCenter. Basically Smith said, as another poster already remarked, that the Niners have not yet modified their offer to Crabtree and that we still feel like we will sign him at some point. McShay talked about how foolish it would be for Crabtree to re-enter the draft next year and the amount of guaranteed money he would be losing. He said that Crabtree either needs to get better advice or grow up because he should have been in camp and playing for the Niners.

Why do so many people think Michael Crabtree will have the oppertunity to re-enter the 2010 NFL Draft? If anything, he doesn't sign, and the 49ers will trade him in an effort to get some value for him. Also, Does Crabtree have the option to reject the trade? He shouldn't get to choose where he goes. I just don't get it!
