Perhaps trading him after March 1st wouldn't be a bad idea...
yup. Let another team deal with his high demands and get something in return. I bet Detroit or Denver would love to trade for this guy. Hell the team that needs one the most is Chicago.

Finally, can someone tell me if Crabtree is the bad guy, or Parker?
I tend to agree with you about the process, and there being no real need to get worked up. However, I'd be interested to hear your opinion on what Deion Sanders had to say, and if that gives people a reason to get worked up.

According to ProFootballCentral Crabtree may be looking for a new agent. Its this is true, was his punk @$$ cousin holding up the deal to make more money or was Crabtree still the one holding out? My guess if he gets new agent the deal should be made soon.

What I am starting to get angry about is that; ESPN has not touched the Crabtree Story since early August. I wish all those ESPN commentators would just rip Crabtree a new one to really turn the Country against him and Parker. If this was a Cowboy or Patriot Holdout they would have daily updates "Crabtree Watch"and Daily competitive banter on PTI.
Oh yeah and this.
All of these nonsense and still nothing from any major sports shows.

Could this have any bearing on to what has happened over the weekend into this week?
"The source explains that there's a chance that agent Eugene Parker led Seymour to believe that the talks toward a new deal had progressed farther than they actually had. Either way, the fact that Seymour went from thinking he was going to sign a retirement deal with the Patriots to learning that he'd been sent to the Raiders has contributed in large part to the confusion and frustration that has kept him from reporting to work at his new place of employment."--Profootballtalk.com
I know it is a Raider issue, but Parker is at the root of this question. Did Parker frick up Seymour's ability to get a new contract? As a result, did this shed light to the rumor that Crabtree is lookin' for a new agent?
Could have a domino effect
I think Seymour f**ked this one up. Reading the Patsy boards, it sounds like he was saying some s**t that wasn't received well by the team. They (the team) wanted him to play for them but wanted him to recognize that he was playing in a top notch organization that most of the best player's in the league would jump to play for....so no need for a monster Haynesworth type contract, which is what Seymour was after.

You are way too mellow, and for that I am vastly disappointed.
I broke down Sanders' comments earlier in this thread, but I think it comes down to a couple of different things:
1) He is not telling the truth, or is exaggerating certain aspects of the story. The status of the story remains the same, an ugly contract impasse.
2) If he is telling the truth, it is a damaging blow to the Niners' position. If teams are willing to throw down big money for Crabtree, then it supports, to some degree, the position that Crabtree has an argument for a contract outside the 10th slot. It also allows Crabtree the leverage to simply walk away from the Niners, and head to the draft next year (or to a trade partner who is willing to throw down this money in March/April).
Of course, I have always stated that I do not know the truth in this matter, as I don't the truth on anything in regards to his contract. That is why I have appealed to the board (and then turned to sarcasm) to avoid getting worked up. Nobody knows what has been offered (the "sources" have been all over the place), and what has been asked for.
Quote:
All we have learned is he was offered 16 mill guaranteed and the there have not been many talks between the 2 sides since then. Maybe the 49ers should up the offer, maybe they should be pushing a little harder to show him how much they want him to be a player on this team. Maybe Crabtree & co. should submit a counter offer (if they already haven't) and maybe Crabtree needs to make a statement to the media.
However one thing is clear, 49er fans are clearly overreacting to all of this. At the end of the day this sport has become a business and right now it's about money. We have very few details to actually go on yet everyone wants to blame Crabtree for the holdout. How many times have fans claimed the York's are cheap over the last few years....maybe it's time for the FO to put more money on the table or release more details to show us that they are doing all they can to get MC signed which would put more pressure on the Crabtree camp to get something done.
