I broke down Sanders' comments earlier in this thread, but I think it comes down to a couple of different things:

1) He is not telling the truth, or is exaggerating certain aspects of the story. The status of the story remains the same, an ugly contract impasse.

2) If he is telling the truth, it is a damaging blow to the Niners' position. If teams are willing to throw down big money for Crabtree, then it supports, to some degree, the position that Crabtree has an argument for a contract outside the 10th slot. It also allows Crabtree the leverage to simply walk away from the Niners, and head to the draft next year (or to a trade partner who is willing to throw down this money in March/April).

Of course, I have always stated that I do not know the truth in this matter, as I don't the truth on anything in regards to his contract. That is why I have appealed to the board (and then turned to sarcasm) to avoid getting worked up. Nobody knows what has been offered (the "sources" have been all over the place), and what has been asked for.

I missed your earlier comments, regarding this part of the situation. The pages fill up quick and it's alot of the same stuff over and over...

I guess my issue with it all, is not who gains leverage, but if in fact there was tampering. Goodell himself stated that it is not permissible for teams to express an interest in Crabtree. So, that means either Deion is lying, and has used his position as an NFL employee to help his "friend" in contract negotiations. Or he is telling the truth, and teams are dipping their hands in our cookie jar, so to speak. Which is tampering.

This irks me, for the simple reason there is not even an investigation by the league. Could it be that they do not want to expose Deion for his charade because he is an NFL employee, and therefore the league would be forced to admit to negligence by one of their own?

Shady stuff anyway you look at it, imo.

I tend to agree with you about the process, and there being no real need to get worked up. However, I'd be interested to hear your opinion on what Deion Sanders had to say, and if that gives people a reason to get worked up.

You are way too mellow, and for that I am vastly disappointed.

My take on Deion is that he is a f**king liar and should have kept his nose out of this situation

Absolutely he should have kept out of it. However, he didn't...

Just seems shady, that the league turns it head and ignores that fact.

if he signs he can still prove them all wrong. what it comes down to is if he plays for us and if he plays well. in the end thats what matters. hopefully he signs soon and plays well.

Reading these pages, I realized one thing:

A lot of people didn't take their meds.

Cheers.

P.S. As a reminder to those who become lathered up with anger at the advent of every new report, these "sources" can't seem to get their story straight. So, why would a person get all worked up...especially over a contract negotiation....from "sources" who are obviously very confused.

I'm certain lost in the new wave of "sources". By the way, how many "sources" are out there? 50? 1000? 100000? Can I have a "source"?

Finally, can someone tell me if Crabtree is the bad guy, or Parker? The reports from these "sources" keep contradicting themselves. Maybe we should get all of these "sources" in a room together, so they can get their story straight.

Good entertainment.

I thought you were Dion himself reading all your posts defending Crabgrass

I am a defender, and evil for doing so.

I think he's got a strong case, and should not be easily dismissed. You may find my argument on page 3, or 57, or 69. Heck, I don't even know where it is anymore.

That's all I'm saying
