And if this organization had the guts, Alex Smith would be cut.

Why on earth would you cut someone like smith when you still might be able to trade him and get something out of the deal?????
by the way
Maiocco is reporting that the team is expecting to make their first 5 cuts today

Smith's only signed for a two year deal, we're not going to get much trade value for him if we tried.
If we do release him, it will be after this season.

Yes, but nobody's going to take any deal if they know fully well they can get him in the off season without giving anything up.

It makes no sense to cut Smith, anyone who says this lacks true football knowledge.

I completely disagree with you. Smith could not beat out Hill, and in my opinion was out played by Nate Davis and Damon Huard in camp and in pre season games.
Just like last year when none of the qb's where given a chance in camp (jt O fumblin was the chosen one by Martz), this year Huard nor Nate are not in the qb competition.
Considering Huard and Nate have taken probably 75% less snaps than Smith in OTA's and training camp, they sure look a lot better than Smith.
Smith would not get a bag of peanuts in a trade. Huard is the better back up good for a couple of years. Cut smith and save 4 million a year.

It sounds like Huard may be going to Patriots if we release him.
