Actually, some teams would take a chance on him, hell, the Giants have David Carr on their roster. Cade McNown played for 3 teams, the Cowboys took a chance on Ryan Leaf.

If the 49ers were to put Smith on the trading block, some team would take an interest. However, since he's only signed for two years, and since there's a good chance the 49ers cut him in the off-season, teams will just sit and wait.

I agree with you. However McClueless will not cut him because he would be admitting he made mistake two with him. First drafting and then resigning him.

"Take a chance on" does not = "Willing to trade for". What picks did the Giants give up for Carr? None. We gave up a conditional 7th round for McNown, why bother? You even pointed out that since he's likely to be cut, teams will just sit and wait. So how is that Alex Smith having trade value?

Word-Daniels was decent. He made a few plays. Green will not be on Word-Daniel's xmas list this year.

He was drafted #1 overall and as the franchise QB. He has turned out to be another one of our horrible QB draft picks in the past 20 years. Why is anyone supposed to support him again?
