With the #2 pick in the 2011 nfl draft, the SF 49ers select....
Nah, we'll probably end up with Locker (Alex Smith's son) since Buffalo might actually follow 'common sense' and draft Luck #1 overall.
trade up?? thats if Sing is not around... if he is, forget Luck or Locker, he'll draft 2 kickers or something of that nature...
Dude, everybody Sing picked in this draft made the team. Our biggest need was oline. We got studs now. Growing pains this year. We are doing the right things. Be patient.

Many Niner fans expected a division title for the 2010 season, but the team is not ready yet. Here is why?
1) The starting QB- Alex Smith will have a full year, an offseason, and training camp with a young and upcoming, bright mind in Mike Johnson. The man can call plays. The offensive is way more dynamic with Johnson calling the plays, and it will only get better with an offseason and training camp with this guy.
2) The Niners' OLine is still a year away. The team should see dominance with Iupati and Davis after they have gone through their growing pains. You can see both Iupati and Davis improving (except for one or two plays). Fans should not have reasonably expected the Oline, specifically with the absence of their leader in Heitman and two rookie lineman, to play outstanding. In 2011, you can expect the line to be dominant.
3) The pass rush is not there, yet. The niners will be drafting outstanding DE in the upcoming draft and you can expect the 49ers to get that pressure on opposing qbs, in 2011.
5) Taylor Mays is going to have serious growing pains. While the board loves to bash Michael Lewis (deservedly so in terms of forcing turnovers), Lewis was a solid, steady and seasoned deep defender. Mays gives playmaking ability, but expect less than spectacular coverage skills this year. Mays will be a probowler...in 2011.
6) Singletary, Johnson, and company need time to get it all together. I expect the Niners will retain all of their main coaches (Sing, Manusky, Johnson) for 2011, and that continuity is going to help us. This season, we are going to see the growing pains of transition, once again. A new OC means a new start again, and that typically spells trouble for a franchise that has not adapted well to the continual line of OC that spin through the team every year.
7) The Niners will have a high first round selection next season. I believe the team will still need to draft some playmakers in 2011. But, slowly, the amount of new talent needed to make a run is shrinking. The Niners appear to be set at virtually every position on offense, and defense. The club has wisely extended players to keep them from running away, and that bodes well down the road.
I could be wrong on my prediction for 2011. Singletary could be fired, at the end of the season. But the team is still on track.
The run begins in 2011.
Aaaah, No. Way off. Team is in total free fall dude.

"We'll get 'em next year!" That's what we heard in '05. Then in '06. Then in '07. Then in '08. Then in '09. And now in '10. That's what you get when you have become Detroit Lions West.

New coach and GM are a must. draft best CB or pass rusher available and were gonna light it up. draft a backup plan at QB if Alex comes back and looks horrible or just restart with the new coaches choice at QB. this team is not far off, its mostly coaching i think, the talent is in place except for one or two players on Defense and a solid coach who knows what the f**k he's doing.
