Is Walt Harris' career as a Niner over?

Walt will turn 35 in August. After tearing up his knee, does he even have a chance to come back as a Niner next year? No one wants to end their career like that, so I'd be surprised if he didn't try to make a comeback, but can a 36 year old CB come back from that injury and make the team? Sadly, I think he might be done.

Let him heal up, take a pay cut (not sure how much he's making now) and come back next year for a decent price as a nickel back or to fill in at starter in case our #1 or 2 gets hurt.

At his age, he would have to think about playing safety, too bad I like the guy, but we will see what next year, draft brings us, Walt might still find a spot.

He has been one of the best free agent signings I can remember in a long time, I hope he can come back.
If not, I'm glad we had him for a while.

The problem with him coming back as a dime CB or 2nd FS is he'd take a spot reserved for a Special Teams guy. Maybe Singletary would take back a veteran like Walt for inspirational and leadership reasons only, but it would not be without its trade-offs. I would like to see him on the team though for our SB run next year. Maybe they'd create a DB assistant coach role for him. It would really suck for him to miss our resurgence completely.

its over...by next season he'll be 35, 36 he's not d. green not to mention it's widely considered that it normally takes about 2 seasons to get comfortable enough to play at a high level......it was great then good while it lasted
