So, lets say i go to Great America the same time as the game.

If i ride the tallest ride there, would i be able to see the field and players from my view?

Just get on Drop Zone and tell the dude that operates the ride to stop it when it gets all the way to the top.

Just chill and watch the game from there LOL

I mean...the Santa Clara area isn't super poppin' with great night life or bars to go to after the game, but it's definitely not dumpy.

....Trust me on this one.....if there is a stadium there, the Bars and Nightlife will improve in a big way. People will be all over that.

Hell, the Montana/DeBartolo project will be across the street. ;-)

LOL @ the Santa Clara area being dumpy.

I've been in that area so many time's. I used to go to the Church down the street from the Yahoo building.

Beautiful area.

Even funnier when you realize that Candlestick is in HUNTERS POINT. LOL!

Not so sure - Santa Clara is mostly a huge business park with some suburban housing. I'd like some good restaurants out there to go to after the game - clubs are neither here nor there. Hopefully there's some real estate around there to build up some decent attractions. The Montana hotel is nice but I don't plan on staying there lol

If they were ever going to stay in SF Mission Bay would have been an awesome build site. Between McCovey Cove and the UCSF property left of Giants lots B & C. It still would have had limited freeway access, but the CalTrain station is just across the cove on 4th street, the Powell street BART station is about another mile down 4th street, and it could have had ferry service. The skyline views could have been sweet !!!

Where the f**k would you tailgate?

I, for one, wish that they would build it where the school is. It would have been a nice ass location too but it would probably cost the team alot more because land out der is expensive. Could you imagine new niner stadium, att park and new arena for the warriors all around the same area?

Btw, when the sc stadium gets built, they'll probably be bars and entertainment buildings that the fans can hang out after the game. San Jose and the surrounding area is my favorite area in CALIFORNIA

Of course not...the Stick and its surroundings = s**thole though. Hoping Candlestick will be incomparable to the new stadium.

Is it just me, or does the outside of the new stadium look like a bunch of giant match sticks.

Star Tower for the slow, scenic view:

(video stops short, but the tower goes higher....too bad it right next to the park ticket gate and not closer to the stadium site...also, you can see in this vid what appears to be several parking garages (belonging to Tellabs I believe)

I doubt bars and restaurants will pop up for a 10 game season. This isn't like around AT&T park where the night life can be propped up by 81+ games a year. Downtown San Jose is a ghost town most of the time during hockey's offseason and a lot of restaurants struggle during those times. However there are a few restaurants around the area and not too far from all freeways. The SC site will be much better in that regard compared to what HP provides
What a time to be a San Francisco sports fan!

  • San Francisco 49ers will have a World Class American Football stadium that will be heard about all over the world and be the envy of all sports fans.
  • San Francisco Giants have IMO the best baseball stadium in the Nation. Realistically it AT LEAST makes every Top 5.
  • The Golden State Warriors will be moving in this decade under this new more active management and with a new stadium.

Raining Game in Northern Cali
