yes

word

indeed
I followed the thread and only feelings of total sadness overcame me. Seriously, this sucks.

Could Lewis have been the Rat? Just Sayin"...

Seriously though, what must the vets be thinking about Singletary right now? They didn't know about Lewis' intentions, but they certainly must be second guessing what is happening within the team even if it for the good?

What I read is "Sour Grapes". I really do. I respect Lewis for what he did for us, but he's bought into the media's hype about the disorganization because he's seen it first hand with the handling of his own role within the team. Still, you don't have a hissy fit in front of God and everyone because you have a personal agenda with the coach.

Lewis must have known the impact this would have on the team and the overall perception the "outsiders" would have on Singletary's reign.

This is very serious. Respected players don't just leave so really what is the motivation for him to do so? What is his mind set?

Did he speak out for himself or for the team.? Did he feel bitter about losing playing time, losing salary, losing respect because of what? His own playing results?

His behavior only magnifies what's happening in NinerLand. Since Coach Singletary is ultimately responsible for the team, therefore, we read that Singletary has no control anymore.

Lewis made his statement, Ladies and Gentlemen, very clearly. Singletary can't win no matter what.

We are in disarray!

Time to start a new HC, OC, DC, ORG, City, Blood Type, Sexual Preference's threads about our team. I joke, but you know me. I don't rant like this and have been a supporter of Singletary for sometime mixing nice batches of Kool-Aid for all.

Sorry guys, but I am completely disenchanted and have seen the light.

Football players, especially respected ones, don't do this especially if they respect the team they love. Obviously, he doesn't anymore. WTH?!

Something is definitely wrong.

Hopefully, false or not, our team, our players, can rise above the...

I am very serious when I say this, I will be writing Jed York. "This is an absolute travesty! This is unacceptable. I am voicing my utter disappointment on the handling of our beloved team. They are professionals and they are not acting like it. No matter what, this should not happen to this respected organization, winner of five SuperBowls.

Time to put the pieces in place to rectify the season as much as possible, but Coach Singletary must go as he is ultimately responsible for this team. Michael Lewis' action withholding, the team's instability has been leaked to the media and magnified by speculation. Why? Because of actions of the players like this.

Time to take control and be the voice you are. This is your team. This is now your choice to fix it, but when. Now! Don't wait. I thought I would never have to say this, but...It is time to make a change, seriously and I love what you're doing so continue to do so. Fix it. Just fix it.

Your continued supporters, Mr. and Mrs. Yannacone.

It is time and I will.

You can definitely take that to the bank!

This is pretty unusual but I dont think anything (or everything in this case) is just "wrong." Why would a star TE like VD sign a 5 year extension? Didnt Willis sign an extension as well? I understand the monetary part of it and I'm sure that's really important...but Willis and even VD don't strike me as guys who are just trying to cash a check to be average on a dysfunctional team.

I think the timing of this is obviously terrible and just feeds the (hopefully wrong) notion that we are a really dysfunctional team.

Anyway...I'll leave with this:

Sometimes desperate teams can thrive on insecurity. Gary Plummer was a member of the 1992 Chargers, a team that started 0-4 and then made the playoffs. Plummer was asked by his 49ers broadcast partner, Ted Robinson, what happened to turn things around. Plummer said, "Everybody thought they were going to get cut."

I'm not saying we're for sure going to turn it around but Sing did say changes were going to happen. Although he should def handle things a lot more professionally.

I am still writing the letter, but I understand your point.

It is the way the team responds to the coach. Guys don't do this. They don't if your like Lewis, a highly respected player.

Is he really that b***hy to go out and spew s**t about his coach? Something is wrong. Something doesn't fit.

Therefore, the results are what will dictate whether or not Singlertary truly has a hold on this team.

I just want to win.
I really don't see how Lewis was treated so unprofessionally. He was still going to start and mays would be slowly intruduced. It's not like he was straight out benched.

Yeah it is strange I agree. I heard the interview with Barrows too and to hear him say this was the "lowest point" for the 49ers in 10 years is pretty disheartening.

Fvck man..this really just blows. I don't get it. What happened between the pre-season games and now. After watching us play the Vikings and the Raiders (the 1st team)...I thought we were in decent shape. We had problems but this is just a whole other level.

All of this just blows my mind. To think that ONLY 4 weeks ago, NOBODY could have seen this coming. It's insane!
Maybe we're all just having a bad dream. Inception ???
lEWIS NEEDS TO QUIT BEING ALL BUTT HURT AND ACT LIKE A PROFESSIONAL MAYBE NOW WE KNOW WHY aNDY rEED LET HIM WALK SO EASILY. GOOD PLAYER WITH DIVA ATTITUDE. SORRY BOUT THE CAPS BUT I AM NOT RETYPING

Let's hope for this team's sake that this does happen like with the chargers. However, you must remember these palayers nowadays are a different kettle of fish!
either the niners are a mess or Lewis is POS

I hope one thing goes down like the chargers. they start every season off 0-3 and make it to the playoffs
Bye Lewis :) sorry but another selfish s**tty player out the door darn!@ I don't care if coach told him he was starting ON MONDAY...he got told Mays will SLOWLY be taking over on FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY....sorry this is a business and if the coaches think someone else is a better option at that position you can be benched any f**king second grow a pair. He's slow and a liability in coverage and took a pay cut...pretty straight forward he was on his way out, he doesn't bring anything to the table these days sorry buddy CYA!

This was my initial inclination....

However, having slept on it, I think it is far more complex than just our record. I don't know who is to blame as yet, but I am not happy with Lewis or the organization as a whole.

It will be interesting to see if we ever find out what is truly going on behind the scenes.
