Maybe it's falling apart for other reasons, but this isn't really it.

but Mays isnt a upgrade IMO, he is as bad at coverage as Lewis is. Smith is a better option.

Ahh that may be true but he is faster and can recover which is what this team needs. He may also cause a fumble or two with some nasty hits.

I bet we move Reggie Smith over to FS, and slide Goldson over to SS...I like Goldson as a SS better than a FS anyways.

Well I don't know what to say anymore. This team is in disarray. Lewis wants out, Coffee retires, and Balmer quits on us. Raye fired. Scotty Mcdrunk fired, , ST coach fired, OL coach fired, Nolan Fired, Martz Fired, Hostler fired, Erickson Fired, TO wants out, Garcia cut...

This is getting ridiculous.

We are the most pathetic franchise in the last 4 years...BAR NONE....

HBO actually already asked and they said no before last season. One thing about Singletary is he is really good about trying to keeping them secrets locked up tight. Kind of reminds me of the whole Tom Coughlin ordeal when he first got to NY. If the world got wind of the real chaos going on in 4949 Centennial Drive, it would make the Jets and Rex Ryan look like Reading Rainbow. There are a lot of secrets within the four walls in that place. I think all this info leaking to the media is connected to guys who have witnessed it and cant wait to tell others about it. I'm sure Lewis will be the next one to start spilling the beans next time a mic is in his face.

balmer and lewis left because they dont want to be back ups

all very differnt situations. different people in front office positions making decisions.

but I do see your point....all pretty much give us the same results.

What happened: Very unprofessional, (sad) backstage politics.

The reality: Michael Lewis was beyond his years (to begin with) when Nolan had picked him up, and Lewis was almost cut during preseason if it hadn't of been for Taylor Mays' (premature) coverage development. And Remember guys, the last 2 years of Mike's contract were sliced/crunched into one big take-home jackpot cause we weren't gonna keep him after this year anyways.

We've seen tons of locker room favorites that were mediocre players come and go at a rapid rate, but the cycle always repeats itself and we'll have some new leaders step up. (Yup, anybody remember Derek Smith? He was Nolan's locker room 'pet' and the guy was a terribly mediocre LB who hung around for far too long.)
