What he didn't tell you was that we have no pass rush and a hole at one CB spot. Safety is also a weak spot. OLB's are average with the exception of Manny who is a great cover LB. He hasn't lived up to greatness for pass rush so far. The D Line is well below average. Justin Smith is the best guy with not much else.

My ranking of this D would be 20 - 32.

Can one of you newer and more "edgy" fans explain to me how you can be a fan of the Niners and still hold the position that the players are liars and phonies? But as for his numbers he practically signed for nothing (vet minimum) with no signing bonus, was he only offering the 9ers this discount?? Its not like he knew Walt Harris was going to be injured.

In fairness, look how long Walt was out there before we signed him. And if I'm not mistaken, he too was signed for the vet minimum (at the time). Denver had a putrid pass rush last year so of course that would make Bly look bad.

I'm not saying he's going to step in and give us 10 picks or what have you, but I will say at the minimum he's no less talented than Walt, and arguably better.

LET THE MAN HIT THE FIELD first before we judge him as a player.

I'm not judging Bly as a player, its nothing but curiosity on my behalf, that's all it is. I'm actually shocked we got a caliber player in Dre' Bly. But as for Walt Harris, I could see why teams passed on him before he came here, nothing to be curious about, due to the fact that he had trouble staying healthy before he came to San Francisco.

Justin Smith said this team is a top 10 defense and THINKS they can be a top 5 defense.

We ended at 13th with just half a season of DENOLANIZATION. We shall see what a full offseason will do for Manusky's defense.
