Correction...the talent surrounding Smith has improved a lot, making him look better. It is not all on Smith whether it looks good or not,it is a team sport,if one facet is not executing the play,it is not gonna work.

But he's still gotta get him the ball, right?

C'mon now...

Yeah man, just making a point to the Smith haters that is a team thing,it is not,nor should it all be on Smith. It takes a team to execute the plays and the talent level is much better than at any time since Alex has been here.Smith is who I hope wins the competition because it makes the team that much better.I never thought Smith had an accuracy problem as much as a confidence problem, hence holding the ball too long and messing up his release point.
I know this has been posted some time ago, but it's a reminder for those who whizz on the 2006 passing game...

As a Smith supporter, I gotta say it's good to hear that Smith is throwing the ball well. I am so glad that he had the attitude to take less money and stay with us. I've said all along: broken, but not beyond repair.

I still remember what could have been if Rocky doesn't ride him to the ground....

I feel comfy enough to say that had we a good RT and a defense far better than 26th in ranking? We would have won a couple more games... been 9-7, and postseason-bound. You gotta issue with that?.... well do ya?
I would become, well tolerate Alex again if he does the following constantly:

1. Hit WR's in stride to allow them to run after the catch.
2. Have the confidence to throw the ball into tighter coverage but allow the WR to make a play.

These two areas were my main complaints about the old Alex.

And I say that if we have Tom Brady, a top 5 defense, a good pass rush, we could also win the superbowl....
interesting deflection...

epic fail

couldn't agree more. His inability to hit recievers in stride worried me most prior to his injury in 2007. Good to hear he is doing well, but let's see how the preseason goes.

Dude, are you kidding me? Are you seriously gonna defend Smith's epic failures in 2006 with "kwame harris"? I understand that Harris was caught for holding quite a few times, but he wasn't a cause for our failures. Go back and you will see that none of his big "holds" were in close games that we lost.....

nice way of describing your posts.

I agree.
Alex didn't do well today imo. Most his caught passes were the receiver doing a great job catching a bad pass. He threw high on a lot and under on his 2 deep passes.

Hill looked better with the ball hitting the guys in stride. His deep pass was lacking but his short and mid game looked good. Him and david seem to have a good connection going, and him and staley were hanging out like best friend after practice.

Davis looked like he had good arm power on his 2 or 3 throws. Didn't catch who he threw too!

All in all. Hill #1, smith #2, davis and #14 too little to call.

Good job all around
