You gave up on him during the 06 season? I bet you were one of the few to give up on him that early. Personally, I was thinking he was on his way to developing into a pretty good quarterback after that season.

The main reason I am not even paying attention to the QB competition is the formula is already set for struggling to win, regardless which QB they will again be choosing very late in the offseason. I spent a total of 2 minutes commenting on it on this thread, and a few more seconds replying again now. So you are correct. I admit I have spent at least 2.5 minutes of thought on the 49ers QB competition the last few months.

I think this QB competition will be closer than most people expect. Some days in training camp Alex will have better days than Shaun, and vice versa, but I do think it will come down to the wire! I hope the starting QB is decided before the third preseseason game vs. Dallas on August 22. In my opinion, that seems like a logical time frame. It would be about three weeks into training camp, and still with about three weeks remaining until the start of the 2009 NFL season.

Smith is a "screamer"? Did you get that impression from the way he b***hed and cried about having to throw with a dislocated shoulder? Because, I don't remember him b***hing or screaming about that. But I bet you would be screaming if you had a dislocated shoulder. It hurts real bad.

We can complain all day about Smith's performance. I get it. But, let's not pretend that Smith isn't a tough guy. He's proven that he's a very tough guy whether or not you guys want to admit it or not.

What..were you bitter because we didn't take Rodgers?He woulda done no better,he is not as tough as Smith nor as mobile.He would likely have been put out of football permanently after taking some of the hits Smith took because our s**tty offensive line couldn't give him three seconds to throw the ball.You are entitled to your opinion,but what I wanna know is if he starts winning games for us,how fast are you gonna change your tune?Fair weather fans suck!
