The worst pick of the draft on paper considering where he was drafted and the team that drafted him

Trey Lance had fewer starts and the 9ers wanted to make him sit and only put him in on certain packages. Just saying, at least the Rams didn't have to spend three 1st round picks to get Simpson regardless if he turns out to be good or not.
Pretty sure they expected 99% of Rams fans to be pissed off at the pick. But I'm on the outside-looking-in and IMO I think Simpson is gonna be a decent QB in this league. If I'm wrong who cares that's not my team. lol
It's not an issue really if Simpson is gonna be good....the question is... does he help the Rams now, since they are in full SB mode now. The answer is no. The compounding issue is that he has little experience, and he's gonna wait a few more years?
Again, if you are a Rams fan, and that card is turned in....are you pro or con? The only people spinning this as a good thing for the Rams are the uber Ram fans. That's all you really need to know. This was an opportunity lost, and a poor pick.
I was actually the one who brought up if Simpson was gonna be good, comparing this trade to the 49ers and what they got for Trey Lance. With me saying that I bet he'll be better than Lance. Who knows if this pick will help this season or not, on paper no it won't immediately help. But all it takes is one injury and Simpson is on the field and they could go on a run like Mac Jones did for the 9ers.
Yes the Rams are in a win now mode, hence the reason they spent picks to get McDuffie and dropped a lot of money on Jaylen Watson. Honestly their defense is pretty much complete, they could stand to add a LB. But all in all the Rams are a complete team from what I see and could go on another Super Bowl run this upcoming season, which is why they said screw it lets get our back up QB and QB of the future. I'd take Ty Simpson over Jimmy G all day and that's exactly what they did.

I might take Simpson over JG too....just not with the 13th pick in a draft when you are in position to add a piece that can put you over the top. As has been previously stated, this really is only a good pick if Stafford has told the brass that this is his last season. Simpson doesn't even come across as someone McVay likes, given that he traded Goff, and if Stafford plays for another 2-3 years.....and this guy steps in? He'll have 13 starts in 4-5 years.....
It all makes no sense to me. Agree to disagree.
