The Browns know it will be hard to attract any decent candidate to that toxic environment so I think Kevin Stefanski is safe.

Hhonestly we say that and franchises still get candidates. We got Kyle in 2017, the Texans got DeMeco, Bears got Ben Johnson, etc. Most top candidates will interview.
Kyle negotiated to pick his own GM and Liam Coen did the same this year. If the Browns fire their front office along with Stefanski that would go a long way to attracting a good HC. What they do have in their favor is two first round picks and two young QBs.

Kellen Moore isn't getting fired. He's not to blame for the dumb stuff Mickey Loomis has been doing for a decade now. Loomis should be the one that falls.

Given that Loomis is really the one that drove Sean Payton out of New Orleans, I would not be all that surprised if he finally gets the boot for some truly horrible drafts. He should be the one. But executives like him keep getting multiple chances.

Another GM playing for his future is John Schneider in Seattle. Yes, it's true that he sat at the helm and presided over some pretty good drafts early on in his tenure. But, never forget that it was Pete Carroll who brought him in and gave him a shot. Carroll called the shots with the Seahawks up until Paul Allen passed. When daughter Jody took control, the power structure changed. She didn't like Petey much. Johnny had her ear. Two years later, Carroll was offloaded and Schneider took full control. Seattle is off to a good start this year, so The Schneid might be safe from getting thrown out on his schneid. Time will tell.

It's very rare for a first year coach to get the boot in the NFL. I think the NFL team that holds the record for coaching futility is our own San Francisco 49ers. 1978. Pete McCulley got canned after stumbling out the gate with a scintillating 1-8 start. Offensive Coordinator Fred O'Connor got the gig and he turned in a record of 1-6 before he got the boot. Eddie DeBartolo cleaned house. Fired the GM, coach and the entire coaching staff. Hired some nobody out of Stanford by the name of Bill Walsh.
Some interesting hot seat games today:

Giants -2.5 at Saints - Daboll is favored in this one and a loss would land him squarely on the hot seat. Moore is probably still ok as a first year coach but they need to be competitive in this winnable game.
Dolphins -1.5 at Panthers - A poor McDaniel showing would increase the heat. If they manage to blow out the Panthers, Dave Canales will start getting toasty.
Titans +7.5 at Cardinals - If Titans can keep this close, Callahan gets some cushion. If they manage to win at Arizona, Jonathan Gannon will have a warm chair.

Ravens about to go 1-4 too, who saw that coming.
Daboll & McDaniel are neck and neck to see who gets to watch NFL games from home this season.

I don't John Harbaugh on the Hot Seat given his past success and contract that runs through the 2028 season.

Gannon should probably be on the hot seat with the way they lost to the Titans. Maybe not during the season, but definitely afterwards if they don't turn things around.

Yeah that is the kind of crazy loss that you don't recover from. They spent a lot of $$ on FAs, have high picks, highly paid QB, and it's not translating to wins
Daboll and the Giants (+7.5) at home against the Eagles. McDaniel and the Dolphins (+4.5) also have a tough home game against the Chargers. Both coaches will stay on the hot seat unless they can pull off upsets. The Cardinals (+6.5) are reeling and facing the hot Colts. A loss here and Gannon moves up to the hot seat. The Titans (+4.5) are facing the Raiders on the road and a good showing would help Callahan's cause. Raiders look vulnerable but I think Carroll is secure for now.

Side note: the blame for Jets poor showing so far could be placed on "Robert Saleh's guys" and that could hamper his ability to get a head coach spot in 2026. More likely he will need to wait until 2027, assuming he continues to oversee a top 49ers defense.
I doubt Salah will get the blame for the current Jets. He wasn't the GM when he was there. If anything Salah having the Niners defense playing well and the Jets still being a s**t show will help him.

Either way I don't think he gets a HC job in 2026. A bit too soon.
The ownership is the problem with the Jets. Saleh wasn't the problem.

He should wait for Pittsburgh.
Nice job by Daboll tonight.
