Lol. This is the 3rd or 4th guy to do it.

Dianna Russini

Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski has removed himself from consideration in the Browns' head coaching search, per source.

Woof! Not a good look for the team. A ton of Browns fans were banking on him being the guy. Well, it's either Schwartz or Scheelhaase now.

Apparently the Browns haven't figured out that they are the ones being interviewed.

Will be amazing when Scheelhaase turns down a five year contract and demands a one-year prove-it deal.
So dysfunctional.

Nate Scheelhaase, other candidates impacted by Jimmy/Jim Schwartz issue

From what I am hearing, Jimmy Haslam is pretty hell bent on keeping Jim Schwartz as the DC. While that, keeping Schwartz, may not be an overall issue, the forcing nature of it is a concern for many candidates. Grant Udinski, for example, had a different DC in mind. Scheelhaase has another option, maybe not as strong as Udinski.

It is also possible, but less likely, that Jimmy would like to keep Bubba Ventrone, a coach that he pushed to join the team a few years ago.

Haslam tipped his hand in his press conference after firing Stefanski when he was asked "Do you want (Jim) Schwartz to remain with the organization?" and the owner stated "Absolutely. Great coach."

So the Browns lose out on all the good candidates because they make it clear the HC isn't even in charge of choosing his staff, then lose the DC who is way too good for them because they won't put a ring on it.

What would be the draw for a DC to join Monken? If the D is rated #5 next year, people think you screwed up.

Dumping a veteran QB after a good season and he is in the SB the next season is not a good look
