Sorry I just don't like this train of thought. It's a competition and everyone is looking for an edge on their opponent. Barry Bonds should be in the Hall and Belichick shoulda been a 1st ballot. Them cheating isn't what made them great. They just got caught while thousands of players didn't get caught.

I think it depends on how egregious it is, I mean I wouldn't knock Brady for just Deflategate even though that was the AFC championship right that is pretty bad. It's the spygate thing that's so bad it doesn't just question one player but an entire dynasty.

Jeff Stoutland out in Philadelphia. One of the very best OL coaches in all of football over the past decade plus. He's continually coached top tier offensive lines.

Stoutland is the first offensive line coach since the 1970 NFL merger to produce Pro Bowlers in 12 consecutive seasons with the same team. Overall, Stoutland has led seven players to 26 Pro Bowls – guard Brandon Brooks (2018-20), guard Landon Dickerson (2023-25), tackle Lane Johnson (2018-20, '23-25), center Cam Jurgens (2025), center Jason Kelce (2015, '17, '20-24), guard Evan Mathis (2014-15) and tackle Jason Peters (2014-17). Kelce (seven), Brooks (three), and Dickerson (three) have each received the most Pro Bowl nods at their position in franchise history, while Peters is the only Eagles tackle to earn four straight Pro Bowl berths.

Lynch/shanahan need to be on the phone with this dude tonight
Reading that the Browns are going to force Swartz to finish his contract, if true I see him being either the Steelers or Ravens DC next year

Seems like he's stepping back from coaching altogether. Eitherway that's a big hole for the Eagles to fill.

He's not going to the Ravens to be Minter's clipboard holder. That's like Kyle Shanahan being OC while Mike McCarthy calls the plays.

Idk much about Minter, Swartz is probably a top 3 defensive coordinator though. He's already pissed, if the Browns piss him off even more I can see him being petty and want revenge outside of him getting a HC offer

I agree Belichick should sit a year for Spygate. We don't even know how long he got away with that.

So Brady shouldn't be a first ballot HoFer? Lol

Imo no, just like Belichick both are all time greats but if there was a scandal in the midst of their dynasty there should be some type of asterisk. What better way than to strip them from their 1st ballot

That being said I doubt they hit Brady with spygate and I dont think deflategate will be egregious enough to push him out of being a 1st ballot

asterisk Jerry Rice also? Strip him of a first ballot vote?

Fans need to realize that the Pro Football HOF isn't run by the NFL There are 50 voters on a committee made up of mostly writers. One from each NFL city plus 12 at large voters. . It's only natural for a certain amount of favoritism and prejudice to enter into the voting. On top of that they have a weird way of voting.
