Two things standing out in this game
1. NE was a fraud and only here cause of the cupcake schedule. (Got lucky in Denver game with Nix out too)
2. Defense still wins championships

Just makes it more impressive that Purdy went into a SB in his second season and had the 49ers with a lead several times against a Spagnuolo coached defense.

People kept talking up the Patriots because they went against top defenses of the Texans, broncos, and chargers. All 3 of the offenses were broken with injuries and the Pats defense was setting up the pats offense over and over, and scoring themselves. The biggest difference is the Seahawks offense hasn't given them anything.

Super elite defense can but it's a rarity. Most teams over the last 20 years bc of offense.

NE had twice as many yards that game than they do this game. This score isnt higher only because Seattle O isnt great.

Seattle's pass rush is the embodiment of selfless play. Guys overlapping vacated rush lanes and selling out to free up their teammate. No real bonafide superstars. Just a bunch of dudes that are selfless and win their 1-on-1s enough to create havoc.

Because teams overpay WRs and QBs and have to let their defensive players walk

Darnold smartly went full Dilfer this game, which was the right move against this opponent.
