Multiple things can be true simultaneously, he was great, a huge presence for them, just wasn't able to lift them in the postseason.
From afar on the west coast, it seems as if an albatross was lifted once they parted ways, perhaps for both parties.

You could see them working from a distance in the past few years.
This season they have all the momentum in the NFC North. Definitely one of the NFC contenders.
