Just should have said something like 10 yards enforced from previous spot, and by rule, the game is over. "No replay" was the confusing statement - think he meant no replay of the down (and that's because the clock ran out - there's only an extra untimed down on a defensive penalty on the last timed play of a half). Called OPI twice in the redzone.

Absurd that they even said it was a TD.

What is up with this network? They don't even show a replay until after the call? When it takes 2 minutes to call. It should have been blown dead for one. This whole lets check with NY to see what we should call has got to stop.
They're only doing that so Romo can keep flapping his gums and saying stupid stuff they think people really wanna listen to.
Talk about some convoluted BS to end a game ...
Football Gods favoured SF for once ! As Goff looked up at the replay Screen, the look on his face said it all.
He knew that wasn't a completed pass . don't care what the Refs said, my eyes work just as well as theirs.
Sometimes, things have a way of balancing themselves out ...

I didn't see the replay on the feed I was watching. Where was the OPI?

On Amon-Ra Saint Brown, before he caught the pass.

Yeah - that got everybody worked up, but they usually do have to rule on what the "result of the play" was (regardless of a penalty), then announce the penalty and enforcement. That was crazy that they didn't blow that dead for forward progress (it was like two or three yards and two guys dragging him) - that stuff can end up back-firing or creating an injury situation when guys have stopped expecting a whistle.

Lol with Rodgers talking about (without mentioning by name) the crazy game ending with the Packers years ago and replacement officials.

Exactly how is that a TD by Goff? The SR's forward progress was stopped.

St. Brown committed OPI so by rule there would be a 10 second runoff anyways and the game was over. It's not necessary to say that Goff scored a TD after recovering a fumble by his teammate and running in.

It wasn't a valid TD in so many ways.

1. The OPI
2. Forward progress clearly stopped
3. Teammate can't advance a fumble at end of 4th quarter

Like, WTF were the refs even doing allowing that to occur yet alone announcing it as a TD.

More like the NFL favored the Steelers and the 49ers were in the right place at the right time.

Was it a fumble or a lateral? I think a lateral can be advanced.

I don't think it was a fumble. Brown threw it. But I agree with the 1st two.

On number 3, it looked like a backward pass that didn't hit the ground as St. Brown was being tackled, which I think can be advanced. Or did it hit the ground?

Yeah, a lateral.....but this does harken back to Stabler and Casper in San Diego (the "Holy Roller" in the late 70's), which changed the fumble advance rule for an offense in 4th quarter.
