This is why the whole "soft schedule" thing matters so little especially since its based off last year. There are teams who do stay trash like the Titans but you never know which team has emerging stars, has a spark or just has been lucky with no injuries.

Herbert is just not a really good QB. He mostly loses a lot. Rarely does anything significant. Does not advance in the playoffs. He lives off of being tall, strong arm, high draft pick, LA QB. All of those are why he gets they hype. Not something he accomplished. You can't point to anything really. He never did much.

Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Jared Goff and Brock Purdy have all won plenty of playoff games and played in Super Bowls. Herbert has not even played in a divisional playoff game, and he has a worse playoff passer rating than Jimmy G. And his two playoff losses were against teams that didn't even make it to the conference championship.

This is a terrible take. Herbert has put up monster numbers with essentially nothing around him. If Herbert had the benefit of a coaching staff and roster like Purdy and Goff have had he would be right there with Josh Allen for the best QB in the league.

What has Purdy done without an all star cast around him? Ah that's right 6 wins. Give Herbert what Goff and Purdy have had had in weapons and coaching and he's a top 2 QB. 23 Purdy was surrounded by talent and it still didn't trump Herbert's best season with a portion of the weapons Purdy had.

As I look at the schedule we may not get over 7 wins, maybe eight. Injuries took us out but all the other teams just got a lot better.

I was looking at 12 to 13 wins and now all the teams we play are better than us right now other than the Titans and Cardinals

Buckner was drafted by Balke but yes we cannot do that.

That was an awful, awful move. Get rid of Buckner to keep Armstead. Both gone now. But LOL. Armstead is pretty good. But Buckner is an absolute destroyer. You don't get rid of that for just a few bucks more. It wasn't hugely different and the salary cap escalated a lot. It looks like a steal by now. That deal in the modern salary cap would be great.
