It was mostly hated across the board. Thought we overpaid for someone who's never proven he could be a full time pass rusher. Felt like an overreaction to letting reddick go. But I would say we were all collectively shocked at how ineffective he was. Figured at worst we'd have is an overpriced 3rd down specialist. The fit issue isn't something I'd say we considered cause we haven't seen Vic before or his scheme. But it got so bad to the point they trusted a converted safety To DE 3rd round project ( who was supposed to red shirt this year) over him and then in the superbowl he was an inactive. We played a one arm Brandon graham over him. I'd say in the past 20 years he ranks 2nd in worst free agent signings we had only behind asomugha. And you can make an argument that he's worse than asomugha considering asomugha actually could get on to the field at the very least
Interesting. Did he lack effort and motivation or did he just seem incapable? It will be really fascinating to see how this play out.
In any event, we always enjoy hating on the Cowboys and their fans in the gameday threads. Stop by anytime.
That was the strange part. It wasn't effort based. Just seemed incapable. I do think he got into his own head and he couldn't even do what he used to do well. I have no ill will towards the guy. He was nothing but class through our whole sb run. I just think it was a horrid fit and he got into his own head.
He is just a terrible fit for a 3/4 defense. He accepted the contract with the eagles because it was so much money (good for him). It was a risky move for the eagles to sign a guy who played his entire career with his hands in the dirt to be a stand up rushing linebacker in a 3/4, it was a bad choice. He will fit well in Saleh's defense, as he has already shown.
I don't think pass-rush was an issue at Phily. The problem was his run defense. As an every down OLB he was bad at setting an edge. Looked like he eventually lost some motivation as a result. Kinda spiraled on him in Philly.

I can't believe they went from one of the most depressing DLs in the NFL to this group in one offseason. Lynch deserves a lot of credit.
