NOT a bad signing.. he brings that veteran experience that may help out the young guys.. sometimes, the simple additions are the ones that pans out.

Did you notice what he did in KC last year.

He was coming off an ACL injury. Made his debut in week 14. There is not much to take away from his starts or stats last year. The one thing is that he is clearly injury prone. But if he can give us a few spot starts then it is mission accomplished.

Now sign Simmons from ATL and we're good

Hell yes, and if they could afford it, snag a solid vet LB (Mosely or Maybin)

Dude was a pro bowler in 2021

He got a major injury after that and he stinks now.

Yet somehow he might start because our OL is that bad.

Who is he going to start over? He was signed for cheap as a veteran swing tackle

Jesus we have a lot of whiny people here

Having DJ as your backup is pretty damn good. Only on the webzone do we have fans who believe there are pro bowl caliber players as backups.
No doubt. Seen the board go crazy for not drafting Kingsley Suamataia. Or Blake Freeland. Or Wanya Morris. This year crying how we didnt get Chase Lundt in the 5th and our our swing tackle spot was ignored.

Then after we sign the best option of the bunch, its a "terrible move. This guys is 4 years removed from the pro bowl. His PFF rating was terrible last year."

Seems like a low risk / high reward signing to me.

Starting RT and moving McKivitz to LG. At least that's what I would do.

McKivitz had his best season and is trending up. Why move him? Let the others battle it out at guard. He is compete for swing tackle.

You must be new here? 🤣
Training Camp fodder?
Placeholder until the 2026 draft when we switch and go all OL

Yikes

Last season, Humphries appeared in two games for Kansas City, allowing three sacks and 11 pressures on 69 pass-blocking snaps (92 total snaps).

He was recoverig from a injury. Was a pro bowler before that. He was a first round pick out of Florida. This is a good pickup if he's fully recovered.

He had his injury in December of 2023, rushed back to play for the Chiefs, wasn't fully healthy and was trying to learn a new system on the fly. With the 49ers he'll have an entire offseason to learn the system and get his mind and body right.

He'll be 20 months removed from his injury before the season starts. Definitely worth a flyer based on his previous body of work.

Completely agree. Love this signing.
