He's one of those guys that you sign and hope the light comes on. Maybe he's a late developer. It doesn't happen often but they aren't really risking anything.

Yeah. UDFA is where you pick up elite athletes who have not only not-produced, but have major issues with their game. He has to learn to catch first, then he needs to start on how to run routes ... it's pretty clear that he hasn't learned the importance of the first step at the snap let alone getting in and out of breaks and he's SO FAR from being able to set up moves.

BUT ... he's tall, big, long, fast, and athletic. He's the super hot crazy chick with 2 dead ex-boyfriends who has an OnlyFans ... you can fix her.

The only great talented FA WR that comes to mind is Rod Smith of the Broncos. Lets hope Neyor puts it together and can be our version.

He can be very successful and not be "great" ... WRs who were not picked before the end of round 7:

Rod Smith
Wes Welker
Drew Pearson
Mark Clayton
Nate Burleson
Victor Cruz
OJ McDuffie
Wes Chandler
Keenan McCardell
Jake Reed
Shawn Jefferson
Ricky Nattiel

And probably most important to 49ers fans Dwight Clark.

Interestingly and unrelated, I just realized Elvis Grbac would have been a UDFA now since he was an 8th round pick.
Does anyone remember Marques Colston years ago from the Saints? He was either like a 7th-round or undrafted. Very productive 2 or 3 years. If he can be anything close to that, total gravy.

I think he was a 7th round pick and I think he was good more than 3 years. Welp, now I need to look :)

Yep, 7th round ... had 8 years over 900 yards. His QB helped too I'm sure.

Marques Colston played 10 years in the NFL and was very consistent, including some huge games in the playoffs. If we can get even half that from Neyor it would be huge.

I'll be curious to see how he does but our best bet is for him to sneak onto the PS(which may be tougher to do since teams love themselves some physical traits in the NFL)
Comparing any 7th round WR to Colston is insane. Thats like comparing a 7th round QB to Purdy
Colston got 1k yards his rookie season and got like close to 10k yards in his career. Lol.

Much more realistic and yet still very optimistic scenario with upside is Jauan Jennings

Are you being facetious?
Wait
Pursy was a 7th rounder?
Great physical characteristics but is that what makes a great football player?

Would you rather have Jerry Rice or Randy Moss? Both are great, but Jerry said Moss was the most physically gifted WR in NFL history, and Rice was too slow and not explosive enough.

The real greats are psychos in one way or another.

Next you'll be telling us he was the last pick in the draft a Mr Irrelevant of sorts. Let's get this conversation back to facts and Neyor becoming another Colston(even though Neyor was actually undrafted)
