He did demand it before but they weren't gonna move him until it all came out. Was only 2 months or so from demand to allegations coming. Then they kept him out all 2021.

Browns ended up trading for a guy who missed an entire season, had legal allegations against him, was facing a suspension and to top it all of gave him his whole contract guaranteed after trading 3 1sts and more.

His dead cap hit for next year is 131 mil. Gonna cost them 50 mil just to let him leave in 27.

it's clearly the worst trade in NFL history.

The trade itself wouldn't have been too bad, it was the contract that was the worst ever.

Back to Shedeur, he's earned a shot and they would be foolish not to give him one, draft O-Line and WR and see what you have, if he folds draft a QB in 2027.
If Shadeur pans out ..... Browns 2025 draft class is one for the books

If the Browns know what's best for them they'd follow that advice . . . . . but also fire Stefanski.

3 1sts a 3rd and 2 4ths for what they have received is pretty awful. But contracts are always a factor in analyzing a trade.

Yeah, to be fair I understated it, I still don't think it would have been the worst trade in history if they had built some get outs into his contract. With it all considered it's hands down the worst ever.

As for Watson that was the worst trade in history. And now, he's an albatross hung around the Browns neck. But the fact is that that's the bed they made, and now they have to lay in it and take their medicine.

They've put themselves in a horrible position: They can't do anything with Watson until 2027. Watson counts as $35.9 against their cap this season, $80.7 mil against their cap in 2026. He'll make $34.7 mil from prorated signing bonus this season. He'll make $46 mil guaranteed in 2026. So there's no way they can trade release him. All they can do is restructure, which I doubt he'll agree to (if I were him wouldn't either). They were basically forced by Watson to open his playing window or he would have had a grievance against the Browns that he likely would have won. But he won't play a down this season. They won't be able to start him in 2026. The Browns fans don't wanna see it, the media definitely don't wanna see it, and frankly I don't think the NFL owners will allow it. At best he'll be the most expensive (healthy) backup and mentor in history to Shedeur for a season, then he'll be released in 2027.

In reality, Shedeur forcing the issue has actually helped the Browns. Their rookie class looks really good (which is why I don't think Andrew Berry is going anywhere). Now, Shedeur has more work to do over the last 4 games to force the Browns FO to conclude that they have found the future at QB (and they have) and use the 2026 draft to build around him. And I do think he'll force them too.

He's already panned out, he's starting over a guy drafted ahead of him. Now if they get a O.C???

he needs to get the heck out of Cleveland.. .unless they get a competent HC that can change the culture over there. Stefanski has that familiar Browns stench of losing + drama.

The only way that Shedeur get's out is if they release or trade him. There's no way that he gets moved, much less released. Give how things have played out and how Shedeur, so far, is making the NFL owners and evaluators, and the Browns, look so bad, I can envision no scenario where the browns would/should let Shedeur go, especially if he continues to improve.

Right now, Shedeur Sanders is in the driver's seat. His play can force everyone's hand no matter what they thought of him or what they intended for him. And I say good for him. Can you imagine if he beats the Bears looking like he did against the Titans?

Wait one damn minute! Is that Colin Cowherd, of all people, coming around to the Dark Side? . . . . .

. . . . Yup, he's coming around to the Dark Side. Start it at 9:17. Next he'll be openly admitting collusion (he almost did) and showing Shedeur contrition on behalf of the NFL As he said, "you may wanna get out of the message business" and ". . . . probably - probably - worry more about drafting-the-best-players-available, that business" Because it looks like many QB-needy teams shot themselves in the foot going along with sending the owners petty message to Shedeur. Yeah, hey QB-needy teams, how's that "message" business working for your team now?

As Shedeur's father would say (taken from what Deion said) they let Shedeur's confidence activate their insecurities.

Bad outing there, it will happen to any rookie, but every week his starting career is on the line. He has to make the Browns draft pick low enough for them to overlook the QB that would replace him.

The Raiders look like they will be ahead and take one, and if the Titans trade their pick away Shedeur might be saved, but if he plays like this he's getting replaced.

Yeah, that was a bad game for Shedeur, plain and simple. But I have to say THAT game was a poorly coached and poorly prepared Browns game. I don't know if you watched the game but on the first 2 drives Shedeur was magically given the wrong wrist band, which is totally unacceptable. I've never seen that from an NFL team. I saw little to no adjustments from Stefanski. The Bears ran for a 142 yards, while the Browns ran the ball 16 times for 50 yards, 24 of which came from Shedeur on 2 scrambles. (So without Shedeur's 2 carries the Browns went 14 for 24 on the ground.) Shedeur threw 3 picks, but one should have been a TD that hit Jerry Jeudy right in the chest So I don't fault Shedeur for one. The O-line (which are down 4 starters, and the center is their 3rd guy) couldn't block to save their lives. Had to be the worst O-line performance I've seen by any team all season, giving up 5 sacks (not one sack was the result of Shedeur "drifting" backwards). Their special teams kept giving Shedeur long fields while giving the Bears short fields, all game.

This was a bad game for Shedeur for sure, but he's not the reason they lost either, IMH. He did have more good throws than those 3 picks. And I'm still seeing progression from him. If I had to put a letter grade for this game I would have to give Shedeur a D-.
Did it take 2 games for defenses to figure him out?

Maybe
