How else can you base it? I watched him and Gabriel in college (I liked Gabriel, but thought Shedeur was better) the offense under Gabriel is almost unwatchable, with Shedeur it isn't. Their next job is finding the QB they go into 2026 with, that QB may not be on the roster at the moment, and they've got 6 games to find out if he is.
I believe those 6 games would be wasted on Gabriel.
You're right it's down to the coaches, but the fans and players have seen a glimpse, Gabriel had game time with no excitement, why not give Shedeur the same?
I too watched that game yesterday and I feel like I was watching Trey Lance. I say that from the standpoint of he literally made one play. The rest were like screen passes all game long. His passes that were in the rythm of the offense were horrible.
Their scoring drives were 13 yards after a turnover 2 rushes by Juhdkins.
Another TD setup by the one play he made.
A FG that was largely setup by 2 big runs and a personal foul. He was 0 for 2 passing on this drive.
Last TD was a screen pass that Sampson took 66 yards.
Im not going to sit here and say Gabriel is the answer but Sanders really didn't show me much yesterday. I will say he got the ball out a little faster and even stepped up a couple times. The whole body of work IMO wasn't really pretty. From my perspective anyway
