Need more insight on why. We know he was too good to play ST and the reason why Mason lapped him. In the past we could never have enough RBs.

CMC
Eli
Mason
Juice

We have to sign at least one more?

TDP isn't better than a random guy off the street, so it doesn't matter.

Just trade for a star RB every 3 or 4 years and we'll be fine

Quite timely that Peter King retells the story of Williams getting drafted and Kyle wanting him despite not even being on our draft board. Wonder if Kyle had a hand in the other two as well.

This. And lol at too good to play ST. He didn't play ST period, not for that reason
At first I was upset about this, but then I saw CMMC, Mitchell and Mason are all under contrary dle the 2024 season. If a player cannot crack the top 3 amd they need help at another position for a playoff run then that inactive player is a JAG Jist another guy .

Let's focus on the team coming together and the offense being exciting becasie we Ana Qb who uses All the reads
This team has an incredible talent for finding hidden gems at RB. And on the flip side, has absolutely no clue how to evaluate the ones we actually draft with key picks. What a f*cking waste again Lynch. Just a total joke. Just recently from this sh!t to Trey Lance, to Drake Jackson, Kinlaw, Hurd. Like it's absolutely embarrassing.

CMC, Mitchell, and Mason are a solid group of RB's. No need to draft one next year, for sure. If they need a extra RB, they can bring up Jeremy from the practice squad.

Don't only look at the misses. Also look at the hits: Purdy, Mitchell, Demo, Ambry, Hufunga, Banks, Greenlaw, Mason, etc. 9ers draft strategy is to draft 2 players at the same position in different rounds. Just so happened that in most cases, the later round player has turned out to be better. No sharper example of this than polar opposite draft capital spent on Lance and Purdy. I'm just happy this team cuts its losses fast rather than letting it fester and drag the team down.

If every team in the league hit on every draft pick... Then it would be a very interesting league....

To be fair, most draft picks don't pan out for any team. A lot of it is throwing darts and hoping for the best. The thing is we've got key contributors from every single draft class, and that's what's important. They've drafted at least 1 pro bowl/all pro caliber player in every draft of the Shanahan/Lynch era, and that's pretty damn impressive.

You list the misses but you also acknowledge the gems. What difference does it make where the talent is found. Sometimes the late round picks just end up being better when they get in camp. It doesn't mean the earlier picks were bad but why keep a 3rd rounder over a 6th rounder if the later pick ends up being better. If you went over every teams' draft over the past 10 years you would see the same pattern. High picks failing. Late picks making the roster. The draft is never a sure thing. You take your bet shot and hope for the best.

Funny how Lynch managed to build the best roster in the NFL even with all those misses.

Good point about drafting two players at the same positon in different rounds.

Got the best team in the league and the deepest team built mainly through the draft but this guy right here is absolutely embarrassed by our draft selections. If you want to show us a team with better draft picks since 2017 I'd be happy to compare draft classes.
It was a wasted pick i get it. All of their RBs drafted haven't fared well, i get it. But you can't deny the impact of CMC to this offense. And that reason alone is why you will continue to see these picks. Just pray they don't swing and miss on one in rd 1.
It is amazing how this team has managed to stockpile All-Pro talent on both sides of the ball at the same time they have whiffed on a lot of early draft picks. The Trey Lance pick should have been a franchise killer but instead the 49ers came out smelling like roses.
