To me actions are more important than words. Trent Williams is never present when the team isn't good, almost magically so, but because he doesnt run his mouth, people give him a pass. Same with guys who got what they wanted.

I also dont see how he publicly "denounced" the 49ers. He simply said how he felt and how he felt he deserved a contract. That's not denouncing anyone. He even said they went to him and told him beforehand that they wouldnt be able to pay him, there was transparency.

I give him a pass for mailing it in after his daughter's death, just like I give a pass to Trent Williams for not really wanting to play after it was clear Niners werent contenders/playoff-bound.

The first half of the season, I agree - unprofessional.

That makes his behavior even worse

Denounce - publicly declare to be wrong or evil

He said we were wrong for not giving him an extension and from what you are saying we were transparent with him. He could have asked for a trade if he was that unhappy with the situation instead of half assing it then turn around and talk shi.

Again no one had any issue with Ward and held him in high regards till this. To compare Trent who is 37 years old, not only a HOFer, but arguably the goat at the position beating brain cancer also losing his daughter is straight blasphemy.

Where did he "talk shi" ? He didnt say anything bad about the franchise. He said he wanted a contract and he was upset he didnt get it. Thats not denouncing anyone. He didnt say fck 49ers, he didnt say anything bad about Kyle, Jed or anyone from the front office.

not blasphemy at all. their HoF standing has nothing to do with anything. both were facing personal life issues. Trent often is nowhere to be found when the Niners arent good, and when they are losing badly, he tends to take himself out of games. It is what it is.

We literally went 6-10 Trents first year here and it would seem he wanted to play for Shanny. The only year you can point to where Trent "takes himself out of games" is last year when his daughter died.

Ward went out of his way when he didn't have to saying he was disgruntled because we payed players holding out but not him. In essence "We didn't show him respect" he made it public and felt he was wronged. The very definition of denounced that I gave you. Yet we were transparent with him with the situation.

Again he could of asked for a trade but no he had to drag his feet and cry about it afterwards.
He had a rough time, giving him benefit of the doubt. Plus, he hasn't really had a filter about his feelings, so not surprised really.
I wish him well in Indy. He played great for us while he was here. Last year was just an effed up year in general. I can understand his unhappiness when he's performed and showed and didn't get paid while other guys are. That would piss me off too. But, what he and his wife/gf went through. I don't even care about the other stuff. I just hope they can find some sort of peace and learn to live with the loss. Going through that I give him a pass on everything and wish him and his wife/gf the best
Dude earned like $13M last year, it's not like he was playing for us out of the kindness of his heart. He's a 30 year old corner and we have to pick and choose, it's a business. What a t**t.
My thing is, why even say what he did? I mean the majority of the fanbase understood what happened with his child, and why he needed time away - and why he wasn't focused when he came back. The majority understood him leaving due to not wanting to be in the place where his child died. And I think a lot of us even credited his mediocre play before that, to the new scheme and the defense not gelling. Yes there were a few asshats that hated on him for signing elsewhere, but it was just a few. So why say what he did about not caring and not trying? He literally gained nothing, and just made himself look lazy and selfish.

Yes, Trent loves Kyle. That's not my point.

"The only year you can point to where Trent "takes himself out of games" is last year when his daughter died."
I've seen Trent punch people and get ejected in beatdown games. It hasnt been just one game where that happened. Again, it isnt about Trent, its about other vets doing this but only Ward getting criticized for it.

"Ward went out of his way when he didn't have to saying he was disgruntled because we payed players holding out but not him."

So to feel this is OK, but to say it is wrong ? He only said it after he left the team too. This is why I said actions > words, to me. If you feel a certain way, I dont see a reason to not say it.

"The very definition of denounced that I gave you"

People dont use "denounce" like you do, apparently.

Literally, this is what Ward said - did you read the article ?

"Ward never made it personal with Lynch and Shanahan. "They kept it real all year," he said. "They never hid anything from me, so that's why I respect those guys. It's all love." He remains on good terms with both men, who congratulated him via FaceTime shortly after he signed with the Colts."
Whenever I think of Ward, the first memory that pops up is him telling the media how he was gonna "get turnt in Vegas" for the Super Bowl
