Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports Deshaun Watson's "two blatant face mask fouls and his shove of an official" will be "evaluated and assessed" by the NFL.
Watson had a pair of face mask penalties late in the Browns' Week 2 loss to the Steelers and made (aggressive) contact with a ref after getting into it with Steelers players on the sideline. Completely out of sorts and terrible for a second straight week, Watson's 2023 could not have gotten off to a worse start. The outside chance that Watson could serve a suspension for his Monday night histrionics would put rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center for the Browns. The mobile Thompson-Robinson would be a priority waiver add in superflex leagues and some one-QB formats.
Watson about to be suspended. And the Browns just lost Chubb.
He also pushed the ref worse than Justin Smith vs the Chargers, and he didn't get thrown out like Smith did.

Follow up.
The Washington Post's Mark Maske reports Deshaun Watson won't be suspended for making contact with a referee in the Browns' Week 2 loss to the Steelers.
Watson, per Maske, could face a fine from the NFL for his two face mask penalties and for bumping into the ref after getting into a heated exchange with the Steelers sideline late in the game. Watson's struggles continued Monday night, as he completed 52 percent of his pass attempts for 235 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while losing two fumbles.

You wanted this guy suspended? You thought that warranted, a suspension?

Yes, because if that were a 9ers QB, he would've been suspended and I'm not the only one who thought that he should probably have been suspended.

did the guy who got touched do so much as throw a flag on the play? did Watson touch the ref or did the ref touch him? Looks like the ref puts hands on, to get Watson away from he opposing sideline, Watson simply wanted the refs hands off him and took the refs hands off him,
this is from the NFL, it didn't even rise to the level, of a foul.
and you guys are talking about, suspension?
big difference between randomly shoving a ref, and having a ref put hands on you, and you disengage from the refs contact
"Officials are called upon to maintain order on the field, and sometimes while performing those duties, there is inadvertent contact between players and officials," the league said in a statement on Tuesday, per NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. "In this instance, in their judgment, the contact did not rise to the level of a foul."
