I would like to see more of those shotgun 2 back sets like we saw in the rams game but with CMC and Mitchell.
Conceivably, that could also be CMC and Deebo.
We could be calling run plays and screens from that formation, prompting defenses to trot out heavier defensive personnel.....
And then we shift our formation to having CMC & Deebo as receivers.
It might take some time to figure out the most effective disguises and attacks... but yikes. Shanahan can really stress out the defense with these two chess pieces.
With the way defenses have been keying in on Deebo this season, I would rather we keep him out wide. The combination of Aiyuk, Kittle, Deebo, CMC and Mitchell on the field together makes me feel all fuzzy inside.
Deebo is too effective and threatening of a player to not line him up at RB throughout the game though. Obviously, now that we have CMC, and Elijah Mitchell is coming back healthy... we don't need to run Deebo into the ground with 5-10 run plays a game, but pre-snap movement and shifts to stress out a defense is one of the foundations of our offense.
Sure. But Deebo doesn't have to line up in the backfield all that often now that we have CMC. That slant/flat concept combo between Deebo and CMC could be deadly. I can also see Deebo running jet motion from the WR spot. I am not saying Deebo shouldn't line up in the back field at all but with Deebo, CMC and Mitchell, the combinations and possibilities are endless. I have to say that your apprehension to Mitchell getting snaps when he comes back is a bit weird.
